I bought my pass today March 6 for 4 rides within a month. When does the month start? The purchase date? Activation date? First ride date? Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

It starts on the date you decide. When you activate the pass you decide the start date of the validity of the pass.
The recommendation is to wait with activating the pass until just before boarding the first train of your travel.
