I want to visit a lot of countries, but I don’t know where better xD, please tell me if there are routes where the FERRY with Interrail is free or for almost a penny

Hallo,ich plane gerade eine lange Reise. Ich wohne selbst im Norden des Ruhrpotts. Ich würde mit meinem D-Ticket nach Kiel fahren, wo ich dann auf die Fähre nach Oslo steigen möchte. Dort würde dann eine lange Reise bis hoch nach Bodo starten. Dazu jeweils den Nachtzug nach Trondheim und dann die Nordlandbahn.Anschließend wäre entweder mit dem Bus oder über die Hurtigroute und kurzer Busfahrt die Fahrt nach Narvik angesagt. Von dort würde ich mit dem Nachtzug zurück nach Stockholm und weiter nach Malmö. Von dort wollte ich dann mit dem Nachtzug in einem Rutsch durch nach Innsbruck fahren.Die Reise würde sogar noch weiter bis Lausanne und zum Ätna gehen und knapp 12.000 km Gesamtlänge haben. Durch Ostfrankreich und Benelux geht es über Amsterdamm dann zurück ins Ruhrgebiet.Meine Frage ist: Würde für die Reise im Nachtzug von Malmö nach Innsbruck einer der In/Outbound-Tage gezählt? My sister and I are wanting to go to London on August 5. Can we still go? We have first class global pass. Do we just reserve a seat?  What if the strike cancels our train?

Hello,This summer, I’m going to travel with my daughters from Istanbul to Budapest, visiting Bulgaria and Romania. I’ll be traveling alone with them, without their mother. Do you know if the customs and border control usually ask for a consent letter from their mother to travel? Is it advisable to carry it in several languages, along with the Family Book (Libro de Familia)? I’d like to have everything in order to avoid any issues. Any tips for this route would be greatly appreciated!

It is my first time using eurail. I will be traveling with my wife and three children: 2, 4, and 6 years old.I will be traveling from Paris to Biarritz. I want to take the fast train that takes about four hours.  Can somebody tell me how much the additional charge will be to book this trip when I make the reservation?  Also, what happens if I miss my train for some reason. Can I use the ticket for the same trip the following day or something like that? Thanks so much!

Hi - any advice please on how to approach reservations for July for journey 3 passholders and 1 non passholder Lake Bled to Budapest.  And then Budapest to Prague a few days later.  We would all like to sit/travel together.  First time interrailing - I think I can deal with the 3 passholder bookings but not sure how to navigate with this additional non pass.  Any steer/advice much appreciated.

hello, we are bloody beginners and have bought senior interrail passes. We are going to travel in Scandinavia on may 1st.  I activated our passes in the Rail planner app.After that I booked seats via SR, the Swedish Railway, from Hamburg to Stockholm, and from Stockholm to Göteborg. When ordering I had to fill in the interrail pass numbers.I got tickets for that with QR codes. Are these tickets enough, or are they just reservations?Do I have to add the journeys also in the rail planner app and get other tickets?I know these are propably stupid questions but would be grateful for help!

Buenas tardes, Estamos interesados en hacer un interrail dentro de poco, por tanto nos dirigimos a vosotros para preguntaros algunas dudas acerca del viaje. Para empezar, nos han surgido varias dudas acerca de la documentación que se necesita para poder viajar.  Por otra parte, nos gustaría saber todo sobre los precios: si hay algún descuento por ser estudiante, el precio total...  Cuanto es la cantidad maxima de personas que pueden participar en el viaje? Hay diferentes modos de viajar allí o distintos clases? Para terminar, les agradeceríamos mucho  que nos informaseis en torno al transporte y alojamientos que soléis usar. 

Good evening rail community I am planning to travel from Budapest to Bratislava on Sunday 19 October In the process I want to tick off another country visited so I thought it may be fun to make a very quick stopover in Bratislava The 08:12 to 10:44 trip from Budapest to Bratislava (Hlavna Stanica station) looks fine. Then will probably move on to Prague from Bratislava 12:26 to 16:39 (Regiojet) or the 13:58 to 18:18 (Metropolitan). What would you recommend between these two choices? Then I also need recommendations for the the short stayover.  Will probably want to keep onto my suitcase here.  Or is there left luggage storage available)? Also would you recommend reserving seats with  first class pass? Thanks!

I bought the eurail pass and activated it. But didn’t know my 11 year old son is free. How can I add him and activate while there is no pass number of him on the bill? 

On our first day of travel we have to get to St Pancras (from Reading) to access our booked Eurostar train.That means travelling on a peak time GWR train that would normally cost £60 in rush hour. I know that domestic travel on the day of commencement and day of returning home are covered by my pass--but how do I access tyhat? Do I just show up at Reading station and ask to get on the peak rate train by showing my Interrail pass--or do I have to book a train with the benefit of my pass?And likewise, what is the prorocal coming home?

I want to make sure I understand how it all works.  I purchase the pass now (7 travel days), travelling in May 2026.  I can activate the pass now or later.  I must activate the pass to be able to reserve on trains.  I can reserve starting 90 days prior to train travel date, but not before. Do I have to do anything for my pass at any train stations or do I just show up and board my train?Appreciate your time!

Buenas tardes Compre mi pase global y por la página de internet reserve varios trenes (el pase esta comprado pero aún no lo activado) cuando voy a app railplanner no me aparecen los viajes por los que ya pague reserva ( recuerdo que las reservas las hice por la página de internet después de haber comprado el pase ) Esos viajes en que momento se verán reflejados en la aplicación??? cuando active el pase?? o si no como hago para ver los viajes que ya están reservados  Gracias 

Hello,i have trouble understanding the travelling from my home country (I’m from France) for example, if I’m doing France-amsterdam-Berlin-Prague-France will it deduce 4 travels days from my pass or only 2 (it says you can have 2 travel day from your home country)thanks for your help:) 

We are hoping to travel from Trieste to Venice on 26.6.2025 at 10.35 to find "seat reservations are not available". Is it that we are too early? If so, when is the advice to next check? Or might it be that no reservations are required? Thanks".

Because our train to the destination where we had to take our last train was way to late we missed our last train to Madrid. As a result we needed to purchase new tickets in order to get to Madrid on the same day which cost us per person about 50€, although we have an Interrail Pass but the seats reserved for Interrail People were already booked out. How can we get our money back?Thank you so much in advance!!

Hi. I am traveling on my own from England to Germany and back over Christmas. I than want to repeat the same journey for New Year with 2 children agred 7 and 10. Can I do that with a one country pass?

Good Evening Fellow Travellers.So I’m planning to travel from Antwerp to Liverpool in one day (Antwerp to Brussels/Brussels to London/London to Liverpool) Seat tickets for Eurostar and London - Liverpool are already booked on the trains we intend to use. If I try to set this up as one journey I am not offered the connections I want and indeed the only connections from Antwerp to Brussels is signalled as Not in the pass network as it is very fast which I don’t need, though if I just look in Antwerp to Brussels there are plenty I can use. Indeed all the trains I want are available individually.Can I simply book the three legs of the journey separately? If not, I’m in trouble.☹️Also: can one add journeys on the day of travel (after starting the trip) or do they all have to be booked into the App before boarding the first train of the day? As ever thank you again to whoever is kind enough to help the hapless
