Hello, this will be our first time to Europe and have a couple questions.  We are traveling in Aug/Sept 2024 so we have time to plan.Our trip is 3 parts.  First part, arrive in London and travel to Edinburgh by train - travel around Scotland for 4 days and then train back to London.Part 2, fly from London to Budapest for 3 or 4 days.Part 3, travel from Budapest by train, probably going Salzburg, Munich, Zurich, and ending in Basel.  Spending a night in each city.Does a 4-7 day Eurail pass make sense (which would cover the London to Edinburgh legs, as well as Budapest to Basel), or would it be easier to just buy tickets as we go?  Days of travel will be known and our schedule will be flexible as far as train times are concerned.If we do go with a pass, is a paper pass easier to work with?  I’ve been reading reviews about issues with the app, wifi, etc. I can’t find much information on what you do with the paper pass when you are ready to board a tra

Hi, first time speaking here.I live in Nottingham, United Kingdom (for now) and my multi-entry Schengen visa (issued by Germany, so I need to enter into Schengen area for the first time from Germany) validates from 31 March 2026. I have already booked a trip with Lufthansa flight tickets 31 March Birmingham - Munich, 7 April Vienna - Munich - Birmingham, and hotel bookings in Munich from 31 March to 4 April, and in Vienna 4 to 7 April. During the week between Munich and Vienna, I am also planning using trains to explore the wider area. Likely to Innsbruck, Salzburg, Linz, and Bratislava. If this was the end of the story, I would not hesitate since Interrail would not be worthwhile only for this.However since there are 4 weeks of “Easter Break” for me, I am also (secretly) planning to go elsewhere. Hi Everyone me and my fiancé are going to be in Amsterdam in 2025 but we are trying to figure out what is gonna be the best rail pass for our trip. We will be traveling for 2 weeks and are planning on having our home base in Amsterdam and taking day trips to Rotterdam, Giethoorn, The Haugue, Brussels, and Cologne. I have only been to Europe once and we went to Ireland but we rented a car so I am very new to the whole train system thing. Please any advice or tips would be really appreciated!  

I am looking a my train options for my Europe trip, many of the trains say that the ticket reservation is optional. When I put them in my cart they have an extra charge. Is this just because I am choosing to book in advance or is this the standard price of the train that I would pay whether I book in advance or not? Also is this worth it to book in advance when it is optional?

Can someone please help with Train ticket info that’s fit for us? Traveling Swiss & Italy from July 15. What ticket should we buy, where from , please guide usHI. We are 2 traveler. We will be in Zurich on 15th July 2025. I have 4 day to travel and see best places in Switzerland. From 15th to 18th July my hotel is in Zurich. These 3 days I need to stay in Zurich but we can go for day trips, need to come back to Zurich hotel everyday for 3 days. on 18th July I can stay in any other city, for example Zermatt, Bern or Geneva which is easier for me to go for my next destination, Milan, Italy. On 19th July we need to be in Milan. On 20th in Venice. 21st July I need to be in Rome. I do not have knowledge how to plan and travel in train. Can you help us to get the right train trip solution ?

I want to use my interrail pass to cover the local train that takes us to St Pancras International for the Eurostar. I do not need to reserve a seat. How do I add that to my pass? Thanks

What’s happen with timetable in Greece after 20 th June? Can’t find a trains.

I have a query with Romanian Railways CFR  Calatori, but I am getting very confused answers. Here is the query trail:Dear Sirs,I have a ticket from Sibiu to Medias for 2 people on the 17:32 arriving 19:01 on 8th September on train R2567.  Ticket ID 29739615However when I look on your website at the timetables this train does not appear, only the R2569 at 19:35 arriving 21:07I need to be in Medias to catch the sleeper train to Wien which leaves Medias at 21:37 and I am worried about the short handover.Is the 17:32 running that day? If not, is my ticket valid on the 19:35? Will I definitely make my sleeper connection at Medias?

We would like to visit our friends in Germany.  They use the Montabaur station.  When we type it into reservations it doesn’t show up. Is it not included it is a DB train from Munich?

IV booked a sleeper train from Paris to Narbonne it didn't give me options and has given me a middle bunk and I need to change to lower how do I do this

HiI am planning a surprise trip for my wife. I want to get from Bern to Bologne. The planner says this will take 5+hours and takes us via zurich.i beleive there is a high speed train that is direct. Is this correct please? if so does the interail pass allow this and how do i get the planner to reflect this please? Thanks

I am booking a trip from a town in England via London St. Pancras to Nuremberg. I put my departure time as 5 in the morning and it gives me the two legs of the journey with times, but I want more time to cross London and to go through passports etc. I cannot see how I can say I want to leave St. Pancras on a later train.

Hi there, Im travelling with my friend this summer and we are keen to do some hikes across Europe. We are interested in Triglav and the Dolomites but are open to other suggestions for healthy, young but begginer hikers. We are travelling in late August time, and plan to spend around 1-2 weeks travelling.  We are wanting to make the most of the interatil ticket but dont want to not take everything in. Any advice would be greatly appreciated

First question - if I catch a direct Night train at 00:07 on a night train from the 10th-11th, arrriving in the morning, will only the 11th counts as a travel day?Second question - If I bought a trip starting before midnight, but opt to enter on the next station after midnight, it ONLY counts as 1 travel day because inbn fact I enter the train after midnight? Or does the previous day count also due to the ticket itself?It is a Nightjet train.Thanks!

I have to go from Italy to Belgium, I have to take a night train at 10pm and I have to change the train at 8am and again at 10am of the following day, Is considered 2 days of travel or Just One? 

hi, I am looking to get the Pass Plus 5 day for a trip in August from Wales > Paris, Paris > Florence, Florence Zurich then Zurich .> Wales. four people, 2 adults, 12yo and 8 yo. The pass+ says that it includes three reservations.  is this three in total or three per person? It is not clear to me.  I would otherwise buy a four day pass. Also, if I bought the pass now, so that I could benefit from Eurostar booking, would it be usable when booking for currently unavailable trains that appear to be released around two months (late June) before travelling? I’m confused about what happens if the train is canceled and have to get a different one?Thanks 

Hi! Me and my boys are on a trip right now. We have the Global Pass 1st Class and we are going from Vienna Hbf to Trieste Centrale on 13/05/26.When I put the exact train into my rail planner it says that we need a supplement on this route (to pass the boarder I think)Is this required for pass holders and does 1st class have anything to say in this case? Thank you.
