I’m traveling Standard Premier London to Amsterdam in June and booked directly with Eurostar, so I can change the assigned seat.  I have chosen a seat that says “window seat” but came to find out there is no window at all, it is simply not an aisle seat, but no window.  I want to pick a forward facing seat with a window, preferably a single seat format.  But it appears there are very few of those with a window in Coach 1.  I was wondering if there is a website like seat guru for airplanes, that tells which are ok seats on Eurostar and which are really bad seats.

I heard in Germany, they have different class seats on separate carts. I am mainly travelling on 2nd class, and I am just worried, that I am going to hop on to the wrong cart. Is it easy to differentiate them, looking at the exteriors of the carts, where carts are painted differently, or do they follow some sort of sequence, where front carts are usually 1st class, and back carts are 2nd class?   

I am taking my mom and sister on their first (and likely only) trip outside of the US, so we will be taking the train to a handful of countries. My question is whether our passports will get stamped upon arrival?  If that’s not standard, is there a way to request it? I think they’d really like having stamps in their brand-new passports!

I am a bit confuse on the passes. I will start off from Milan to Varenna at Lake Como then take Berninia Express from Tirano to Zurich. Thereafter from Zurich I will travel to Lucerne and Interlaken then to Milan. Rest overnight in Milan and continue to Rome and Venice then back to Milan before departing back to Singapore. All in 17 days. I intend to buy swiss pass (Covering Switzerland for 8 days) and should I buy eurail global pass or what pass should i get since I will be travelling in many trains. 

Hi, everyone.I am planning to travel to Europe in April this year.While looking for the train line, I had a question. Night train routes to Paris to Barcelona are not found on other sites such as omio. However, in the Rail Planner app, routes exist.I'm planning to purchase Eurail Pass. Should I follow the line of RailPlanner?I'm a beginner in traveling. I'm asking because I'm afraid it's a route that's not registered incorrectly on the app.

Help!  I bought 3- 10 day Global Passes for my family to visit Paris and Germany starting on January 6th!  It looks almost certain that there will be a German Rail strike starting on the 8th or 9th.  We fly into Paris on the 6th, we were planning on Paris for 2 days than-Strasbourg (reserved seat on January 8th)-Stuttgart- then heading towards Munich, using the rails to check out day trips until we fly out of Munich. I have only reserved the Paris to Strasbourg High speed trail so far.  Should I cancel the German hotels and try to reroute my Munich flight? Then go to the French countryside, Amsterdam or Switzerland.  Or rent a car and drive in Germany and hope to get some compensation back?  Right now all my German hotel reservations are refundable.  It’s only the flight from Munich to Dublin that I might lose my money on.  Are these stikes typically only a day or 2.  I’m afraid that I will only be able to use 2 days of a 10 day ticket.  But I do not want to be STRANDED my first tim

I’m traveling with my niece throughout Europe in late May-middle of June. I’m trying to determine which is more cost effective for us, either buying a Eurail pass and making seat reservations or buying tickets directly.I’m looking at purchasing the Global Eurail Pass with 5 days of travel, first-class, one adult pass and one youth pass. In determining what is most cost effective, I’ve been doing what has been suggested, which is comparing Eurail passes with reservation fees against prices for directly purchased tickets, and doing like for like comparisons (same dates, routes).I keep hearing how inexpensive train travel is in Europe, and how it is often better economically to buy tickets directly, however, when I price it out, Eurail seems to be far cheaper (almost $1000 cheaper) for our plans. Is this because I want to travel in first-class? Hi 😀I have interrail global pass, and want to like to do a reservation for AVI 9742 from LYON PART DIEU (2:30pm) - Barcelona Sants (7:32pm). I get over the interrail seat reservation this error message: “It seems no price offer is available right now. It is possible that all pass holder seats are sold out. Please check 'More information' and try other ways to book this seat reservation, or buy a separate full fare ticket to board. You need to buy a seat reservation to board.”So i called SNCF and they said to me, this train doesn’t exist, so it’s an failure from interrail website. Could somebody confirm that to me? That i would look after a different connection.  More background information why this train: So I will start the trip in Munich, and want to be before 9pm in Barcelona. so I found the connection (5am start in munich - 7:32pm arrival in barcelona) Thanks for you help! Patrick

Hi everyone!I have bought one Deutschland-Ticket and I find that there is RE11 train from Koblenz to Luxembourg. I am wondering if the ticket is still valid for this train or do I need buy another ticket to Luxembourg?There are also similar situations for other RE trains to some cities in neighbouring countries.Thanks in advance!

Based in London, I’m a senior, solo traveller, and in Italy only having seen Rome and Florence briefly some 50 years ago, Then a sad trip to Venice (nothing to do with the city) in 2010.I want to get to know Italy, particularly its food and wine.  I’m a freelance writer and translator.I am attending a 1-week retreat in Perugia from 15 April and I would like to travel in Italy for 3 weeks after that, from 22 April to 13 May.Should I get an interrail pass for ??? days travel in 1 month?Can I use the Interrail to get to Perugia from the airport when I arrive from London?  I can fly into Florence or Bologna.  The 2nd class Interrail pass does not let you take airport train in Florence, it seems. Does this make sense economically?How do I get the most of the Interrail Pass in my situation.I am not interested in being everywhere, but rather in staying in a place at least 2,3 days and get to know it and its people.The wines I adore from Ital

First time I'm buying the Eurail pass. To use the trains that don't need to book a seat, do I need to make some kind of reservation? How does it work? Or is it just showing up on the day and time of the train and getting in? What if it's full? I need to make sure I will board.

@Camilo.I just learnt that the valid code for getting the Interrail/Eurail discount at Stena Line is EURAIL2023 On the benefit page the old and invalid code is shown. Can you please make sure that the benefit page is updated with the correct code ASAP?

I’m glad that it’s finally possible to book seat reservations for Spanish AVE trains online.Is there any way of picking your own seat?  Or do you have to accept the seat that is automatically allocated to you?

I’m travelling from Haute-Savoie to Barcelona. TGV for part of the leg, already reserved seats. I’m getting conflicting advice about booking the TER though - do I need to reserve a ticket or not? I know that booking seats is not necessary.

I’m from Asia and I’m planning on visiting a few European countries for the first time in Feb 2024. I was thinking of using the Eurail pass for trains across countries but the schedules are not updated for early 2024 yet and due to this, I cant plan or purchase any of my accommodations, tours or flights unless I have these train schedules available and confirmed.Does anyone have any idea when the Feb 2024 schedules will be available for booking/reservation?

Is 20 minutes enough time to transfer from an arriving Eurostar train at Brussels Midi to a departing IC train to Liege. The Liege train is the last one of the day at about 23:00 and leaves from platform 11. Since we have the Eurail global pass, can we just board the IC train straightaway?
