I am travelling to Europe for the first time, flying into Rome and home from London. I am considering a Eurail, first class, 10 day travel pass, valid for 2 months. The hope is to see Florence, Cinque Terre, Milan (also Lake Como) , Venice, Fiume Veneto (near Pordenone), Vienna, Prague, Munich, Zurich, Lyon, Paris and London.I started using the Eurail travel planner and found that it can’t find many of the places I want to go. I know that some of the lesser towns (e.g. Lake Como) will probably mean a separate bus trip or hire car. However I need to know where the main train lines run so I can make sure I can get to places I need to get to, or how close I can get them, especially Fiume Veneto where I have family. I thought Eurail was linked to all train lines in Europe, but I am worried that it may not be ideal for my needs.Also, I am unsure if I am better off booking every accommodation and every train trip before I leave home, or is it easy enough to book train

Hello! We will be traveling in Switzerland for 6 days in late May 2023. We have identified several small quaint towns to potentially visit while there. My concern is the lists came from large national publications with millions of subscribers. Por favor , que alguien me explique como usar interrail,LLegaré en avion a Edimburgo (Escocia) y desde aqui quiero recorrer Reino Unido en tren .Ya me he registrado en Interrail , y también en la comunidad , que espero que alguien se apiade de mi y le explique a éste novato a dar los primeros pasos . Por lo que he podido aveririguar hay un pase para un pais (en este caso Gran Bretaña ) , somos 2 , osea mi mujer y Yo , he llegado a averiguar los precios de los pases por días flexibles , y que habria que hacer reservas en algunos trenes y/o en algún horario pero que no puede hacerse desde la app , sino que tiene que ser desde la web. , o al menos eso creo , o en la estación ? , ¿ y la app es la Rail planner ? …Entonces que tengo que hacer ,¿ comprar el pase y que sea digital , quiero decir que te mandan en un correo para que te descargues el pase y luego lo tienes que poner en la app , ? y luego ya me pierdoasí que por favor ayuda

Hello everyone,I need to choose between a mobile or paper pass. I need to buy it now, because it’s a gift but I need 2 informations:the date of issue can be different of the date of purchase in the paper pass. But is it the same in the mobile pass ans how? Because no date to enter when buying it... the number of the ID card will change because it expire between the purchase and the travel, is it the same approach and cost with paper or mobile pass?Thanks

Hi/Bonjour, We plan to reach Milan on April 25th (to get the night train to Syracus).We had seats reservation on Brussels-Koln and Koln-Basel, but we just get a message that DB timetable change and we have to find alternative. It look that I can’t book the alternative in TGV via Strasbourg on DB website…What are my passengers rights to get to Basel or Milan (if possible without extra fees...).Thanks for your help ! Joachim    

Hi,I would like to check is the German Consecutive Pass no longer available to purchase (German Rail Pass Consecutive)? After clicking in, it only shows the flexi pass.I’m travelling on these destination and dates, looking for a better and cost saving option in terms of transportation. I hope to have some expertise advice on which options (Ala carte ticket / Eurail Pass / German Rail Pass) i should go for.I would like to check as well if there is any Promotion on the tickets / passes. I’m trying to travel from Amsterdam to Barcelona on March 13 using my Eurail pass.  So far I plan to use IC trains (without seat reservation) between Amsterdam and Brussels-Midi, then TGV (with seat reservation) between Brussels-Midi and Lyon Part Dieu (with seat reservations).  However, for the last leg, between Lyon and Barcelona, I cannot figure out how to reserve seats ahead of time.  I’ve looked at eurail.com and b-europe.com, and I’ve called Renfe and SNCF.  Renfe tells me that I can only get the seat reservations in person at the train office.  That seems like a bad idea considering our time will be limited.  SNCF told me to call Renfe.  The forums in this community indicate that it’s difficult, but apparently not impossible?  Help!

Hi together!We, 4 persons (family, two adults, two children age 15), want to book a reservation for SJ nighttrain. Is it somewhere visible at INTERRAIL booking service (not SJ) that our places are together in one compartment?As far as I know, there are 2 and 3-bed 2nd class sleepers (not couchettes). So, I assume, that we will get 2x 2-bed sleeper compartments when booking. Or could it be, that there is booked 1x 3-bed and another person into another sleeping compartment by the INTERRAIL booking system?Other possibility, the couchettes. There are 4 and 6-bed couchettes. At INTERRAIL there is again the possibility to book the option for couchette. But it is not clear, if it is a private 4-bed compartment (so no one other could be with us) or an 6-.bed compartment, where maybe two other persons could be in the compartment. How can I achieve such a 4-bed compartment via INTERRAIL or is it not possible?Thank you for your help!Bye, StephanI

Hi, I’m completely new to using the Interrail Pass and already I’ve made a couple of fairly major blunders. Here is the latest: I have a Global 1st Class Pass on my phone (1 month). I planned to return to my home town of Newcastle in the UK from Antwerp (via Brussels) on 2nd May so I scheduled the trip in the Rail Planner and then applied for and received a seat reservation for that date. However, I have just noticed that somehow my Eurostar journey appears to be scheduled on my phone for the 1st May, and also at a later time of day (14.04) than the reservation on the 2nd May (12.56). How serious is all this, and can I do anything to change my travel day to 2nd May to fit in with the reservation I have paid for on the 2nd May? 

Hello, I will be traveling from Florence, Italy to Paris, then from Paris to Barcelona.  I have 6 days in which to do this and would like to take the train.  I was looking at the Eurail 7 day pass.  Would this be the best option for me and my parents?  Not sure how long a trip from Florence to Paris, then from Paris to Barcelona by trian.  Any information is greatly appreciated. Thank you

Hi,I live in Vienna, and on all the Interrail passes that I have had, I have got 3 inbound/outbound journeys and not 2. As I use Interrail passes regularly to go to Paris, this is quite convenient, because by buying 2 youth months-long global passes during sales, 2 back and forth journeys cost about 200€ including reservations, which is as much expensive or even cheaper than day trains. I just need to buy the ticket from Vienna to Freilassing or to Salzburg for one trip, which is 30€ with a Bahncard 50. For 4-days passes, this is also quite convenient, as 3 out of 4 days can be used in Austria.I wonder: how is the number of allowed days of trips inside the country of residence determined ? So far, I have only seen 3 days inbound/outbound. I have understood that it depends on the time it can take to go to the border, but I am not sure that any trip in Austria must really take more than 1 day, even if 6 hours domestic train rides exist. Hi Guys, I bought a Eurail Global Pass. I am using a Rail Planner App to book my trips. I noticed there is another app called DB app that can also provide train trip booking. So instead of Rail Planner app, can I use the DB app to book my train trips linking this app to my Eurail Global Pass ? Thank YouJohn

I have had several train trips, both in Europe and the UK delayed or cancelled using my Global Eurail pass.The question is can I claim compensation even though I have no ticket?

Ik wil reizen via Denemarken, Noorwegen, Zweden, Finland, Estland, Letland, Litouwen, Polen, Tsjechië, Slowakije, Duitsland, Zwitserland, Oostenrijk, Slovenië, Kroatië, Servië, Roemenië, Bulgarije, noord-Macedonië, Kosovo, Albanië, Italië, Frankrijk, België, totaal 3 maanden onbeperkt aantal reisdagen, ca 2 à 3 nachten per stad, en snelle verbindingen via treinen en veerboten; wie heeft ervaring, of toch al met gedeeltes van deze route? 

First time traveller here in Europe and so far using my Global pass here in Italy was a breeze. But, I got a notification that TGV- France will have a train strike on the 5th - 11th of May. I got a train reservation booked  on the 9th of May from  Zurich to Paris. Would this be affected? If yes, any suggestion on how to mange this issues, will be highly appreciated.I already got a hotel booking in France from the 9th - 14th of May. Thanks in advance 

Hello All I'm not sure if this is the right spot to ask but hoping you could all help me out with some questions that I have or if there might be a different group that I could ask. My partner and I are coming over for a 6 week Europe holiday and I'm wondering what is the best way to get around. I've been looking on the EU Rail website and each time I look at it I get more and more confused. My partner has family in Scotland so we were thinking of basing ourselves there and then doing Europre and flying back and going again. Could anyone please advise me what the best thing to do is as I dont have much of an idea.Thank you Daniel

Hi Trying to look into eSim card for May France trip (15 days). Bought “Eurail Pass 2nd class 6 days within 1 month” I would like to know if I need to have data running to show the following:My 3 Eurail Passes? My Trips for a particular day when I’m on the train? Seat reservations with their QR codes will be downloaded from gmail and stored on my phone (as documents)Plan to use data forscenic site “walking” navigation/metro/tram navigation Rail Planner app to show my tickets or explore train options look up a restaurant/boulangerie/patisserie whatsapp, email checking NO streaming of video or music.Last trip I used about 2 gb and a bit for a 15-day trip but I didn’t have a Eurail Pass though. All the tickets were bought at the machines. I also shared it with my mother via my personal hotspot but since it drained my phone battery, we didn’t do that

Hi all, thanks for answering my previous questions. I won’t have any trouble with most reservations but I am with ITALY. Both OBB and the Trenitalia sites will not sell a seat reservation for May 29th Florence to Lugano (usually via Bologna or Milan). The OBB site (regardless of date) says NO TICKET and yet if I want to BUY one there are tickets for sale. Please help me figure out how to get such a simple thing like an Italian train seat reservation. Germany and France are easy! Many thanks!Scott

I’m going to the Olympics through July 24 to Aug 12 I’ll be traveling to Lille for basketballs games and I want to go to London between these days and visit some castles in France. which train pass should I buy? The Global Pass or Eurail pass only? Is it worth it going to London to reserve first class seats? Please help me first time using the Train Passes, but I don’t know which one to buy thanks 😊 

I’m travelling with my husband this summer on our first interail trip. We travel from London to Paris (5 nights in Paris for the Olympics), then train to Grenoble where we first met (2 nights), then train to Zermatt (1 night), then Glacier Express to St Moritz (booked). We have a 7 day pass and are not sure where to go next from St Moritz. Ideally we’d like a few days of relaxation somewhere, Any ideas please?

i can’t book the reservation from wien to bologna centrale. i can see trains on the Interrail website but i can’t see them on ÖBB. please help me, this is the last step for our trip

Sorry, another question. My husband and I are travelling together. I originally added the 2 passes to my phone and read somewhere that you can move one to another phone once it’s enlivened. I just tried this and the system is asking me questions like ‘do you still have the old phone’ and it’s asking me to deactivate the pass I want to move so which is it??Thanks very much!Dunja
