⚠️ Train strikes in Italy on 16, 19 and 20 JuneTrain Disruptions

UPDATE!Rail strikes in Italy will impact train travellers in the Lombardy region from Monday, 3:00 a.m. on 16 June, till Tuesday, 2:00 a.m. on 17 June CET, and across the nation from 9:00 p.m. on 19 June till 9:00 p.m. on 20 June CET. Due to the strike, a limited number of trains will be running, and alternative train services will operate in accordance with railway staff availability. We recommend checking the planner in the Trenord timetable or Trenitalia timetable shortly before departing for your planned journey for up-to-date train times. To find out more about the strike and for more details about the list of operating minimum guaranteed services, please read the Trenord strike announcement for 16 June and the Trenitalia strike announcement for the strikes on 19 and 20 June. Delay compensation: Interrail & Eurail travellers with an activated travel day on any of the affected strike dates might request compensation on Interrail or Eurail delay compensation page.

⚠️ Finland: Track maintenance works in summer 2025; replacement buses availableTrain Disruptions

Planned maintenance works in Finland will impact multiple railway lines across the country at different times during summer 2025. Replacement buses will be operational and are valid for Interrail Pass holders. For more information about the construction works and the affected train routes, check out the VR website.  If your planned rail journey in Finland is affected and you want to use the replacement bus, follow the steps below:Check up-to-date train times and replacement bus details for your route using the VR timetable.  Add the replacement bus journey manually in your Rail Planner app to generate a day ticket for it. Is there a "seat guru" to say which are best (and worst) seats on Eurostar?

I’m traveling Standard Premier London to Amsterdam in June and booked directly with Eurostar, so I can change the assigned seat.  I have chosen a seat that says “window seat” but came to find out there is no window at all, it is simply not an aisle seat, but no window.  I want to pick a forward facing seat with a window, preferably a single seat format.  But it appears there are very few of those with a window in Coach 1.  I was wondering if there is a website like seat guru for airplanes, that tells which are ok seats on Eurostar and which are really bad seats.

How do I recognize the difference between the different class carts (1st class and 2nd class) on German Trains: ICE and Regional Trains?

I heard in Germany, they have different class seats on separate carts. I am mainly travelling on 2nd class, and I am just worried, that I am going to hop on to the wrong cart. Is it easy to differentiate them, looking at the exteriors of the carts, where carts are painted differently, or do they follow some sort of sequence, where front carts are usually 1st class, and back carts are 2nd class?

Hi everyone!As the summer months are coming and as trains will be quite busy, we'd like to share with you some tips for reservations with Renfe, Renfe-SNCF en cooperación as well as Eurostar! As you may know, reservations are mandatory for Eurostar, Renfe-SNCF en cooperación and most Renfe trains.On these pages you will find some recommendations on how to book your reservations and some tips to avoid them (when possible) on these routes, particularly on the French-Spanish Mediterranean border, as well as in Spain, by taking alternative itineraries.Experienced Eurail and Interrail travelers, any tips for other travelers on these routes? Getting stamps in passports

I am taking my mom and sister on their first (and likely only) trip outside of the US, so we will be taking the train to a handful of countries. My question is whether our passports will get stamped upon arrival?  If that’s not standard, is there a way to request it? I think they’d really like having stamps in their brand-new passports!

Swiss Pass and Eurail pass

I am a bit confuse on the passes. I will start off from Milan to Varenna at Lake Como then take Berninia Express from Tirano to Zurich. Thereafter from Zurich I will travel to Lucerne and Interlaken then to Milan. Rest overnight in Milan and continue to Rome and Venice then back to Milan before departing back to Singapore. All in 17 days. I intend to buy swiss pass (Covering Switzerland for 8 days) and should I buy eurail global pass or what pass should i get since I will be travelling in many trains.

Night train routes to Paris to Barcelona

Hi, everyone.I am planning to travel to Europe in April this year.While looking for the train line, I had a question. Night train routes to Paris to Barcelona are not found on other sites such as omio. However, in the Rail Planner app, routes exist.I'm planning to purchase Eurail Pass. Should I follow the line of RailPlanner?I'm a beginner in traveling. I'm asking because I'm afraid it's a route that's not registered incorrectly on the app.

2024 Germany strike- first time rail advice

Help!  I bought 3- 10 day Global Passes for my family to visit Paris and Germany starting on January 6th!  It looks almost certain that there will be a German Rail strike starting on the 8th or 9th.  We fly into Paris on the 6th, we were planning on Paris for 2 days than-Strasbourg (reserved seat on January 8th)-Stuttgart- then heading towards Munich, using the rails to check out day trips until we fly out of Munich. I have only reserved the Paris to Strasbourg High speed trail so far.  Should I cancel the German hotels and try to reroute my Munich flight? Then go to the French countryside, Amsterdam or Switzerland.  Or rent a car and drive in Germany and hope to get some compensation back?  Right now all my German hotel reservations are refundable.  It’s only the flight from Munich to Dublin that I might lose my money on.  Are these stikes typically only a day or 2.  I’m afraid that I will only be able to use 2 days of a 10 day ticket.  But I do not want to be STRANDED my first time o
