Get ready to travel
To ask all about our Passes, reservations & more
Hello! Glad to have found this community for helping out fellow travelers :)I have a group of 4 family members which are going for a 22 day travel through Europe, mostly by trains. They bought the 22 day global pass for 2 adults, 1 youth, 1 senior and are trying to book the trips, starting from Rome Termini, going North until Paris Gare-De-Lyon (they will continue from there to London then Amsterdam and finally Interlaken, before going back to Rome for their return flight to Brazil. The Eurail website is able to find the routes in the planner and add them to the cart, then finally fail with a 500 error when finishing the order. I could find several threads on the community about similar errors and how unreliable the Planner is, so I have directed them to the oebb website to do the reservations. But they don’t seem to be able to find a suitable route even for the start of the journey (Rome-Paris).Their desired starting date is Aug-13, from Rome Termini to Paris Gare-De-Lyon from 9am onwa
Hi there we are travelling to Europe in April/May 2023 from Australia for our Honeymoon which was postponed from 2020. We have a 1st Class Eurail Pass and I am having trouble booking seat reservations for the following journeys: (IC143) Amsterdam Centraal - Berlin Hbf / 9:10 - 15:25 on 20/4/2023(EC360) Prague Hlavni Nadrazi - Munich Hbf / 7:43 - 13:18 on 28/4/2023 For the IC143 train, it allows me to get to the review page however states that it the journey is no longer available, this is also the case on the Bahn website and other times and dates. The EC360 train does not allow me to book seat reservations on any day, this is also the case on the Bahn website. Is anyone else having the same issues? Or am I attempting to book to early, I had no problems booking Berlin to Prague on the 26th of April.
Hi all,I’m a UK resident and citizen and I’m looking at buying an Interrail Global pass with 4 uses in one month. I have some questions about what the allowed order of trips is, particularly concerning inbound and outbound journeys.Question 1:My intended journeys are, in chronological order:Southampton to Manchester AirportManchester Airport to SouthamptonLondon St Pancras to Lille (Eurostar)Lille to London St Pancras (Eurostar)Southampton to Manchester and Manchester to Southampton would be on 2 separate days. The Lille trip would be a day trip all on the same day. I may be taking a train in my destination country after flying there from Manchester but not sure yet.Am I allowed to do this?Would I also be allowed to take the train from Southampton to London and back to get to St Pancras using the pass, or would my inbound and outbound already have been used up going to and from Manchester? If I don’t take a train during my trip abroad from Manchester does this make my train trips to Ma
I have a problem. I bought the 2-Months unlimited Pass on last year's promotion. hen buying the ticket on May 2022), I selected Germany as my country of residence as I was currently living in Munich for my university studies. However, by the time I start my journey (April 2023), I had already moved back to Turkey. I bought the ticket with a friend; he and I are both Turkish citizens and have Turkish passports. I will start the journey from Turkey and also end it there. So I am hoping I do not get locked out of the German railways because of the "country of residence" issue. I have contacted Interrail support and they informed me that "country of residence" cannot be changed after the purchase date. I would really like to be able to use the German railways for free as they are not cheap and are hard to avoid. They are geographically central in Europe, so I will have to use them. It will be really difficult for me, financially, to complete my journey if I buy a ticket for every train ride
Two English retirees starting tomorrow on 2 month IST class interrail trip around EuropeAfter reading advice on here, I've used the oebb app to make 2 reservations for Italy1. Viareggio to Salerno on IC train. The app flagged up that mobile tickets were Not Available for this journey, which was contrary to our expectations. Tickets could only be via email and pdf to print out, or to collect in Austria. Maybe this is because they are domestic Italian trains. Does anyone know? 2. Venice to Innsbruck on EC train. Booking and reservation went fine, but seat selection is bad. Diagonally opposite each other on different sides of central gangway. Ie 3 seats apart!!Can this be changed in anyway, online or in person when we get to Venice. Thanks for any advice
Hello! We are a family of 4 (2 Adults, 2 Youths) and we have booked Eurail “15 day in 2 months” (2nd class) in the Global Mobile pass.I have watched the help video but I still have many unclear things. We 4 will be traveling together all the time. So, I have added all 4 passes to my phone. 1) We will make our first journey from London to Amsterdam on June 22, 2023 on Euro star. This needs a seat reservation that cannot be done on the Mobile App.What is the correct process? Do I make the reservation on the Eurail website and it automatically flows through to the mobile App?2) Secondly, I understand that I have to create 4 trips and link each pass to a trip on its own. In that case, how do I make the 4 reservations at once? Do I have to make reservations one by one for each person?
Hi I bought a pass 4 days within 1 month (flexi pass) only because I travel to Paris once every months. So the pass is free for my daughter (7years old). I travelled in January for 3 days alone. I went to London St Pancras to collect my ticket and I'm planning again to travel in February with my daughter. My question is for how long this pass is available? And for how many trips? On my app it shows thisO/4 used travel days 0/2 used outbound/inbound Please could someone explain how this work? Also in long term which pass I could buy because, as I said I do go to Paris every month.
I wasn’t able to proceed the seat reservation in France and Italy legs. My Trip will be London Paris Interlaken florence rome. Eurostar seat reservation was successful for July 02. The online system let me go until the I click on the payment button. It showed error and prompted that the leg has error.
Hi community! We plan to go to Switzerland and Italy next week. We have a 2month pass. I’ve read a lot of the comments in the forum and I would like to ask someone to look over my shoulder to see if I making any thinking errors.I get on the train in Germany and leave Germany on the same day. When the conductor comes I show him the Interrail app with QR code. My wife shows her own app. Correct? On every day I travel I add a trip. If I hop off the train, I can continue the same day and just add a new trip. Correct? If I make a trip in Italy, I add a trip in the Rail planner and I make a seat reservation in the ÖBB app. I pay the reservation with paypall. If the conductor comes, I show the Interrail app and then I open the ÖBB app for the reservation. Correct? On our way back to Germany, I plan the night train from Innsbruck. It’s important to travel this last piece in Germany on one day. Correct? If I go to the Netherlands, I plan to go accross the border on my own costs ( I live only 10 mil
Hi, I’m a Dutch student who is going to study next semester in Germany. I currently have a Dutch drivers license wich is a valid ID/proof of residence in the Netherlands. However perhaps it is better to transfer my drivers license to a German one. The question is: Would a German drivers license proof my residence in Germany (since it has the municipality who is issuing the license on it) instead of my Dutch ID card so I can get a global pass with as home country Germany?
Montpellier (France) to Malaga (Spain) or Puente-Guenil within 1 day (also issues with reservations)
Hi,First days of trip and I am spending hours struggling with booking the next leg of our journey. I am learning a lot about Interrail in the process but this is too time consuming. I now realise I should have done all this planning before our first day of travel. I didn't expect things to be this complicated! We need to go from Montpellier to Málaga. I thought we could do this in 1 day of travel but it seems very difficult to reserve the trains in Spain online!Any tips? Thanks in advance.
Hey everyone, I am trying to book a reservation for the Eurostar from Paris to London on the 14th of January (it absolutely needs to be this date), but the Interrail reservations tools just tells me that there are no schedules available yet. I have been checking the website for a couple week, but they have not been updated yet. On the actual Eurostar page, however, the train times are already available. I am somewhat concerned about getting a reservation, as the Interrail website advises you to book the Eurostar about six months in advance. Can someone tell me when the schedules will be up? I would be very grateful for help! Eva
I want to purchase an Interrail pass that I’ll begin using from Wednesday 5 October. Problem is, my phone won’t support the Mobile App (below iOS 13) and obtaining the pass physically may be a logistical issue…I’m only at an address in London until Tuesday 4 October and I’m booked on the Eurostar that day to Paris (booked and paid for separately/already). I don’t know the address I’ll be staying at in Paris at this point, so can’t order the Pass as I have nowhere for it to be sent at this point. The site indicates that the mail could take 3-8 days to arrive. What options do I have? Can I purchase the pass in-person anywhere in London in the next few days, or in Paris when I arrive on Tuesday 4 October? And if the latter is possible, can I begin to use the pass the following day, or possibly start from the same day?
Any ideas of how to make a reservation for the Brussels - Marseille TGV on 27 December?Scnf has trains for sale but doesn't do passholder reservations.B-europe doesn't appear able to sell the reservation. The interrail reservation service doesn't have the trains yet for some odd reason.
Hi - I purchased two tickets on my laptop at the ÖBB site. I have since downloaded the OBB app and do not see any way to move the tickets to the app. Is this possible? And, we are traveling during the holidays and would like to ensure we sit together. I have read several posts here about reserving seats, but no mention of selecting seats. Is that not possible? Is it first come first serve on seats? Thanks very much for any help!
Hi,I think this subject must’ve been covered a thousand times in these forums but I either don’t quite get the restrictions or can’t quite believe a more solid backup solution isn’t available.I currently have my trip (for the whole family) on my mobile phone. It’s a three week trip spanning about 6 countries in Europe. My fear is losing my phone as there appears to be no way of having a back-up. I read somewhere you can transfer your trip details onto another phone but how do you do this if you’ve lost it?! (you can’t seem to have simultaneous duplicates!)The Interrail website doesn’t seem to have a cloud duplicate of your phone app either - this seems crazy but I believe it is correct.Any ideas on what to do (apart from not lose or break your phone) would be very useful. The stress and cost implications of losing your one travel pass is doing my head in!
Hi, Eurail Community,We are travelling Europe from the 28th of Feb to 25th of March 2024 from London ending in Istanbul. We are planning to visit the following cities:-London - 4nightsAmsterdam - 4nightsBrussels - Day Trip in-between Amsterdam and ParisParis - 2nightsZurich and Surroundings - 4nightsRome - 3nightsVenice - 2nightsVienna - 2nightsBudapest - 2nightsIstanbul -3nightsin that order. We are planning to fly from Budapest to Istanbul for the last leg of our journey. We need advice if we should purchase the 10days in 2 months flexi tickets or the 22 days continues tickets. We would also like advise on the availability of night trains in-between the destinations listed above to save on daylight times if possible and on top of the cost of the Eurail Global Pass, how much should we expect to pay for seat reservations? Do we need to make seat reservations on the rail planner app or do we reserve our seats at the station during arrival for our departure. Also, is the Swiss Transport Pa
First time user. Travelling from Aus to Europe in June. My first train trip will be Paris to Zurich oh June 10. I have logged onto my eurail account and clicked on seat reservations. My pass is first class. It seems to be telling me the seat reservation is over $100 😩. Is that right.
good morning this is urgent and I believe it needs to be solved by the team. I have written to them but no reply and cannot find a telephone number. I bought an electronic pass on Friday I need to travel tomorrow starting with Eurostar. the electronic pass number is not recognised by the seat reservation page at Eurostar.
I have recently been diagnosed with ovarian cancer and I am awaiting all the tests and treatments. Unfortunately we bought our pass on 11.5.22 and haven’t had a chance to use it yet. Please could someone tell me when we need to start travelling by?Please could someone tell me when we have to finish travelling by?Also we live in the uk. Can we use the euro rail to get to France with the pass?I am very grateful for any help at all at this distressing time.We bought the tickets in the 50% sale and so I do not think we are entitled to a refund.Does anyone know if it is possible to delay the start of our trip in these circumstances?Kindest regards,Alison Allister
