Get ready to travel
To ask all about our Passes, reservations & more
Good morning,I am a student living in Venice, Italy, and I have won an Interrail pass (7 travel days in one month) via the DiscoverEU portal. I’ve found as the first train, the route without change from Venice S. Lucia to Vienna which leaves at 21:48 and arrives the following day at 07:41. The return journey, always without change, with departure from Munich at 23:20 with arrival in Venice S. Lucia the following day at 08:34. Considering these journeys, how many travel days will be counted by the interrail pass? Thank you in advance
My first journey is Brighton-Holyhead (train) - Dublin ( ferry must be booked with Irish Ferries) . So , is my journey in the mobile pass app Brighton-Holyhead or Brighton-Dublin ? This would count as my one permitted journey from my home country.
I’m trying to book reservations online for myself and a group of friends, for some train journeys within france. But when i get to the checkout it asks for me to provide paper pass numbers, when we have digital passes. Is there a way I can reserve these seats online without having to go to a french train station as I’m not in Europe until next week?
Hello,I’m sorry if this question was asked already multiple times, but did not found the answer. I bought the 2 months Global pass, and wanted to pass by my home country in the middle of the trip to rest for a few days. At that point the 1-out 1-in my residency country will be used. How do I do if I wish to take a train from one of my home stations to foreign countries again ? I would pay the ticket just to the closest station of my country, but then inevitably the train will go through the border. I did not get how to do that (especially night trains that do not halt close to borders). Many thanks,Sophie
I entered all my journeys into My Trip, for my pass use. I have not activated my pass yet, as our journey begins in a month. However, the second to last journey (Bruges to Brussels) keeps jumping to the end of the list of journeys, even though the date is correctly entered and it should not appear at the end. If anyone knows how to fix this, I’d appreciate knowing. I deleted it several times, and re-entered it, and while it initially shows up in the right place, it keeps jumping to the end.
Hi,I am sorry to disturb, I’ve seen several different versions,Indeed, On the Interrail website, I’ve seen that there is a discount on the ferry journey between Italy and greece (Barri and Corfou),And I’ve also seen that it’s totally free (on the ferry company website (superfast ferries))Finally, I’ve seen that the seat is free, but we have to pay taxes, If it’s free, how to do it ? I’ve tried on the website, and at the end, if I put ‘null’, it’s free, but I don’t know what this means,Also, I am 24, and I can’t select the “Interrail Global Pass 2nd cl”,as a discount. I need to put that I am an adult. I hope you’ll help me, Tank you very much
Made a minor typo for two reservations. One from Brussels to London and the other from Paris to Niceit’s just my middle name that’s missing some letters. It’s supposed to be ‘Nicolay’ but on the Brussels-London one I accidentaly typed ‘Nicola’ and the Paris-Nice I accidentaly put ‘Nicol’. Will they care? First and last name match btw.
Italy seat reservations- it’s suddenly saying that every single train reservation anytime for any train in Italy are fully booked/unavailable
Hi, I’ve been booking seat reservations in Italy fine, all working all available, but it’s suddenly saying that every single train reservation anytime for any train in Italy are fully booked/unavailable on the interrail website? Thanks
Hello, I have a train from Munich to Bratislava on May 15th. I have a reservation for the Munich to Vienna portion. I would like to also reserve 2 seats for the Vienna to Bratislava portion as I do not know how busy that train is usually. Does anyone know a site where I could do this ? Alex
I bought and received 4 pass for our family trip this summer. I am trying to enter our information in the Eurail app but NONE of the passes have a “Pass #” of any type.I’ve read the instructions about them beginning with an I or E, followed by an 8 digit number. I’ve gone online and looked at pictures of what these numbers should look like and where they should be located. All four of our passes are blank in that area. I’ve even scanned the barcode that is on the left side of the pass to see if that was it but this is just a 7 digit number. The only numbers on the passes are at the top and they look like this “CIV 9901 EU304….. -1” but all four have the same number and are just sequenced -1, -2, -3, -4In the image below is this not were the number is supposed to be?Number location
Hi im looking at buying the 2 month global pass, ive planned my trip on the mobile app, and 13 trains say they require seat reservations. Are these all mandatory? Ive read that a few people had some issues trying to make reservations? As we are travelling with a baby I want to make sure everything goes as smoothly as possible, so if you have any advice please let me know! :)I would also like to purchase the pass soon and reserve all the seats etc as soon as possible to ensure we are ok and have seats also we need some beds on the night trains and im not sure how fast these book up. We aren't leaving until the 21st July, so if I purchase a pass tomorrow for example and add my pass to my app will it start from tomorrow or from my first trip on the 21st? July? How soon can I add the reservations, should I add them right away or should I wait until the day before?Do you think a paper pass would be better than using the mobile app? If I had a paper pass, and we missed a train/delayed/no sho
I purchased sone interrail tickets for me and my family back in December 2020. Obviously because of COVID they were not used and I received an email from Interrail in May 2021 saying their validity would be extended until August 2022. I am now trying to make some reservations and it is saying they are expired?! I have tried contacting Interrail via the online form, and making an email firstname.lastname@example.org but all I get in return is an automated email acknowledging my email but no follow up response (it is now a week since I first contacted). Can anyone help with the original problem of why the passes have expired …. or help me with how to get through to a human who can help with this problem eg. a phone number. Thanks
Hi @ all -- I have a question about the ID document for the mobile Interrail pass. Following situation:I have a Swiss residence permit (Swiss residence ID) and I am a German citizen (German ID card, no first or second residence address on the ID). Swiss residence ID contains information about my name, birth date, has a passport photo, a specific ID identification number and contains biometric data. My question is: Which ID document do I link to my mobile Interrail pass? German ID or Swiss residence ID?Thanks for your help!
I have a 3 month continuous mobile interrail pass , which I have not yet activated. It appears that I have to plan my whole 3 month trip and save it to " My trip " before activating the pass ; and no changes can be made once the pass is activated . Is this correct ? Would it be different if I had a paper pass ? I was hoping for flexibility , and wanted to choose my destinations as I travelled. Thanks, David Byrne.
So I live in the UK and have bought a mobile Global Interrail pass. I want to travel by train from London to Braunschweig (Germany). The first journey I need to make is from London St Pancras International to Bruxelles-Midi, which requires a seat reservation on Eurostar. I look up an itinerary on the Rail Planner and find train times and connections and import them into my trip. You cannot go directly from the Rail Planner to seat reservations, so I go to the seat reservations section of this Interrail/Eurail site and put in the same dates and destinations. The trains I have selected don’t come up. The times are different. So, if I reserve seats will they be valid for the trains I am actually on. For a journey lasting 10 hours, I don’t want to risk it.I have updated the App, so it is the current version. One can double-check against the train numbers but there are four trains involved, including a couple for which you HAVE to have a reservation. It is unsettling, time consuming a
I am about to go Interrailing for the first time. I am travelling with my husband. The main thing we wanted to do was to go on the night train from Milan to Sicily and I was expecting to pay about €120 for a 2 berth sleeper from the information on the Interrail site. When I try to book this it is only coming up with the option of 2 single compartments. I think this may be because of Covid restrictions but we don’t want to be in separate compartments and €248 seems a lot to pay for something you don’t need. Is there any way to book one compartment for the 2 of us? Any advice would be much appreciated.
Can you save the outbond and/or inbond travell also for after your first trip(s)?For ex: i live in Brussel and could pay a regular ticket to the border of Holland, Then from there i use my Global pass to go to Amsterdam. From there i go to Sweden and then back home to Brussels again. Does this safe the outbond journey that i didn’t use then yet? Thanks for the answer!
Hello all,my name is Ronald, from the Netherlands.Yesterday I bought a digital Interrail pass for 3 months, and I'm actually busy planning the 1st (outbound) train trip to the south of France, for which I need a seat reservation for a train from Paris Montparnasse to Pau, on the 10th of juni (18.11 - 22.26 hrs). However, while trying to obtain this reservation, the interrail system keeps on telling me that ‘prices are temporarily unavailable’.Alternative solutions proposed by Interrail:(1) booking a reservation via travel.b-europe. This does not work, as I am obliged to fill in a ‘pass cover number’ which apparently only paper passes seem to have; I have a digital pass.(2) buy a ticket at the concerning train station on moment of arrival ; In my opinion this is way to risky to try to get a ticket this late in timeSo my question is: is there another solution for a digital passholder to obtain this reservation?? Thanx in advance for your help!
Although I have carried out all the necessary steps to book, I am unable to book and pay for any train. In particular, I tried to book a Paris-Turin train for August 22nd and when confirming the payment it warned me that it was not possible to book the leg. However, I don't think this is due to the lack of seats on the train as it continues to be available on the site and some of my friends managed to book it after I tried it myself. I noticed that the problem concerns high-speed trains from france and also on the SNCF website it is not possible to book. How should i do? Wait to get there and book at the station praying for an available seat? I have already contacted support but I haven’t got an answer.
