arghhh! I think i'm in trouble, with home country travel rules

I live in Germany, not so far from the Dutch border. I want to travel to Italy and France this summer, but start from Amsterdam as the nightjet starts from there. I rashly booked an expensive holiday house last night, after working out that me and the family could have some fun with an Interrail ticket and visit a few places on the way. I went to book the Interrail ticket and saw the home country travel rule. Oh! Now I think it might not be possible to holiday as i’d planned so I really need your help. The plan is to leave on a Wednesday, from where I live in Germany (near the Dutch border) to Amsterdam to catch the nightjet NJ40295 that evening. This goes direct to Munich overnight, arrives Thursday morning. I need to be in Munich for the connection to Milan on Thursday evening, also a nightjet, so arriving on Friday morning. Have I already reached my home country travel limit?  I mean, i’m just leaving the country, but it takes a long long time in that direction!And I still need to g

Stolen phone. What to do?

Hello, my phone got stolen one week ago but I just managed to buy a new one. I already read that I have to contact the customer service and I did, but I would like to know how long do I have to wait to have this fixed as I have to travel on Tuesday :(((((((( heeeeeeeeeelpppppppp!  Thank you so muccch Aurora

What if my identity card expires and I get a new one before I start my travels with interrail?

As said in the title, my ID will expire next year and I’ll probably get a new one before I start my travels. I’d like to take the opportunity and buy my Interrail ticket with the current discount though.Is it possible to register/buy a ticket now and ‘update it’ to my new ID once I have it?

If I board a night train after 00:00 can I take another train after that, is it counted as 1 travel day.

Travel in the UK

Hello! Two of my friends and I have Interrail Global Passes and have already chosen the flex travel option. We had previously won the passes via the DiscoverEU contest before the pandemic and are now hoping to finally travel! I read on the website that travelling in the UK is possible despite the Brexit restrictions. However, can we only travel in England and Scotland without entering an EU country? Do our passes differ from the ones which can be bought through the Interrail website? I mean, is there any additional obligation from our part to travel in an EU country or do the same things apply for all Interrail Global Passes? Our home country is Greece by the way. Thanks in advance!

Haven't got a vaccine. Travel possible?

Hi guys, looking to do a bit of travelling in the coming months all being well. Haven’t got my covid vaccine and won’t have got it by the time I plan on travelling, however I have recently had covid (tested positive 31st December 2021) and recovered since. Would I be able to get into most countries by showing them proof that i have had covid within the last 6 months and following that up with producing a negative test upon entry into that country? Just let me know honestly what my chances are like if you have experience of this or know anyone who have had a similar situation. Appreciate any replies.Many thanks,Joshua.

French reservations

Hey - very new to this pass and getting slightly frustrated.  I’m trying to book a train from Paris to Nice at the end of March.  I’m not able to book any of the trains listed (there’s seats available but not with the eurail pass).  Is there a workaround that may get me there that I’m not aware of?  Fully booked via eurail seems to be a common affliction with anything I try to book through France - is this normal?Cheers

Refund or Extensions due to covid

Due to the ongoing problem of Covid variants, we are still having to postpone our trip.  We purchased first class global Eurail passes Mar 3 2020 just before Covid erupted.  Should we get a refund now, or will there be another extension of the dates for their valid use?

Busses covered by Eurail

I will be taking this bus that is covered by my Eurail pass next week. Since there are no reservations, can I just show my Pass and be allowed to board the bus? Will it fill up before I can board since I don’t have a reservation? thanks

Trajet en train

Bonjour !  j’ai prévu un voyage interrail pour environ 16 destinations sur 2 mois avec donc le pass interrail 15 jours pour deux mois. Pouvons nous prendre autant de train que nous voulons sur une journée ? Par exemple pour un trajet Amsterdam - Berlin, quand il y a un changement ? Ou cela est compté comme deux voyages distincts et je perds donc du temps à utiliser sur mon billet ?

Best way to book travel for 5

I am organzing a group trip for 5 where two people are starting starting before three of us and then heading out earlier.Two will be traveling from Ediburgh to London. Then all five of us are traveling London to Paris. Then Paris to Slazburg. After 5 days we will all be traveling to Interlaken. After 5 days the same two will be traveling to Geneva. Three days later the other three of us are traveling to Zurich.What is the easiest way to be able to make the reservations for when all fice of us are traveling togther? It sounds like people have had trouble with that. Should I purchase all the passes so I can book the group travel? If so how easy will it be for the two that are traveling (partly) separately to make thier own reservations?And should we go with the electronic passes or the paper passes?I arranged travel for a group about 5 years ago but they were moslty minors and I went through Swiss Travel Centre so I did not make the reservations myself. Any help would be greatly apprecia

My train is cancelled by SNCF. Can I get the full refund?

Hi, I have a question about the cancellation. My train from Zurich direct to Paris is cancelled by SNCF. I have global pass so I only booked the seat reservation originally.I tried to cancel the reservation and get the refund on Eurail website.However, it showed that I can only get 30 euros back. ( The reservation costed 35 euros)Is it possible that I get the full refund? If it is possible, how can I apply for it?

Train travel between countries within the EU; Covid requirements.

We have train tickets booked on Eurail. For April 2022.  I would like as much information as I can get about travel by train between countries. Is there border patrol and covid tests necessary every time? Is a Canadian vaccine card recognized there? Are tourists welcomed? Any information I can get will be very helpful. I feel like I have lots of questions and when I start typing I forget some so if there’s something we should know I’d be grateful to hear about it!!!

Hi, I have a question.i bought global pass for 4 days/1 month. I traveled 2 days and today im on the train. I want to mark today as 3rd day. However, as it is shown in the screenshot, i just have 1 day left (3/4), which is not true because i have not marked today as 3rd day yet. Im afraid if i mark it now, the system will deduct my last day (4th) which I will use to go back to Germany. Can you see and instruct me? Thanks

Traveling from another country

Hi i live in the netherlands but i want to fly to athene and start using the pass from there, is that possible because i did read somewhere that if you would start in your own country and come back in your country that your pass doesn’t work anymore but i want to use it afterwards, can someone help me with this?

Passport checks in trains/ferrys?

Hello!I am planning to visit Berlin, Croatia, Italy and France next year. I assume I need a passport for this, but what about passport control? Is it like in airports where they check your stuff at the counter and at the security? I am also going by boat to Croatia, departing from Italy. Does anyone know how and if they will check my passport at the port?

refundable Tickets

Hey!I want to cancel a train with a sera reservation that I have booked on interrail website. My ticket says that it is refundable but on the interrail website when I want to delete it it says “not refundable”Is it normal? “Not refundable” is just for the booking fee ? Thanks !

Greek Island Pass; Travel Around Cyclades and Italy

Hi, So I’m going travelling this summer and from June I’ll be with a friend around Athens and the Cyclades and then going to Bari going: Athens - Paros - Ios - Santorini - Bari (I understand there isn't a direct ferry from Santorini to Bari) My question is whether any of the following options are recommended:Getting either a 4 or 6 day greek islands pass not getting a pass and booking the trips now through blue star ferries or emailing ahead to reserve waiting until I'm there and then buying them at the portI usually like to be organised and I’m really trying to keep costs down without compromising too much of the trip, if anyone has any suggestions for how I should approach this or any additional help on the subject area, it would be greatly appreciated!!

Train delayed - couldn't get the next ones

Hey guys, me and my friend vici got two interrail tickets (4 days within a month). We just took the Nighttrain from Narvik to Stockholm yesterday. But the train got four hours late and so we couldn‘t get our trains back to germany.Now we must take a train at 17:18 and will arrive tomorrow in the morning instead of tonight. The problem is, that our tickets won‘t work for the last two stops. Are there any solutions for problems like that?Thank you

Is it possible to set and change destination and times during my travel day (assuming my intended trains don't need reservations of course)?

Hey,I have a question concerning the e-ticket of a mobile pass, for a continuous Global Pass.I was wondering, how spontaneously can I decide on a destination and time, is it possible to set and change these even during my travel day? Assuming my intended trains don't need reservations of course.So, for example if I travel within Germany and on a given day I want to go Hamburg — Berlin, and I know that on the same day I also want to go from Berlin to Hannover, but I don't know when beforehand. So, can I freely decide on the exact train just shortly before its departure and edit my trip and ticket during the day? Or does everything have to be set in advance the day before?I hope I'm not double asking this question. But as the FAQ said "Remember, each travel day has a separate ticket, so if you’re continuing your journey the following day, you’ll show a different ticket." I was wondering if it was possible to make changes during the day.Thank you!

Hej,När jag skulle köpa ett mobilpass, så var det omöjligt att registrera födelsedatum.Jag klickade på År, och Månad. men när jag klickade på datum återställdes till den ursprungliga texten “NaN/NaN/NaN”. Vet någon vad felet är och hur man ska agera

Does the resident count where you actually live or where your passport is from?

My question is , ¿does the resident count where you actually live or where your passport is from? We live in Mexico but have European passports. What Pass do I have to by Eurrail or Interrail?? We want do travel from Paris to Viena and than to Madrid. I appreciate your comments.

Seat reservation ICE Stuttgart-Paris - how is it possible to book two seats located side by side?

Hello!In May, we (2 persons) are going to travel from Stuttgart to Paris on ICE. Having bought two Interrail Global Passes for us on the same account, I also booked two reservations together (in one order!) on the Interrail website for this train. Unfortunately, by consulting a seat map of DB Fernverkehr, I found out that these two seats aren’t located side by side but one after another at the window, although I bought the passes together on the same account (and not seperately) only in order to get coherent reservations. How can I change this reservation to one with two seats side by side? Is this only possible by cancelling my reservation at interrail.com and by ordering again at a DB oder SNCF travel agency or is interrail.com able to change this, too?Thanks for your answerTraveltogether
