Eurail Pass: Italy only - Reservation questions
Dear Community, I’m about to leave on my trip to Italy and just wanted to ask (and/or confirm) a few things to ensure my understanding of this process is correct. I have read some of the other posts related to mine, but just wanted to double check. On the Rail Planner app, I tried to look at train times for 9 September (Thursday) at 9 pm, but when the results show up, it gives me 8 September (Wednesday)….?? Why is that? Does this have to do with the time difference between Italy and California (where I currently am)?  Is it only possible to book reservations via Eurail.com website or the Rail Planner app? Is it possible to book reservations in person at the train stations? (e.g. when I fly into Fiumicino Aeroporto I won’t necessarily know how long immigration and customs will take, so it would be hard to anticipate which train I’ll be able to board). Would train station personnel accept the Eurail Pass on my Rail Planner app?  Does the TrenItalia app communicate at all w
Should I buy a Eurail or Interrail Pass with a residency card from England and America passport?
Hello! I’m studying abroad at in England this year and have a student visa residency card. By the time I’m looking to travel (March-April) I’ll have been here for 6 months. Should I buy a Interrail or a Eurail pass? I know that to buy Eurail you have to be outside of Europe, which I will not be, but my passport is American. Thanks for the help!
Delivery by post reservations - issue
I want to book a reservation from Paris- Barcelona and Barcelona - Marseille. Both can only be delivered by post. I‘m leaving tomorrow so i can’t use my own adress and wanted to use the one of my second hostel. I‘m staying there 06.05-10.05 and the reservations are for 13.05 and 17.05. i filled out the adress and everything but below there was a message that due to their calculations it won’t arrive on time. I don’t know how long the shipping takes but i‘m confused on how to book those reservations. Is my only option at a train station ? It’s still 14 days away so i don’t get why it won’t arrive in time ? Booking at a train station seems risky because what am i gonna do if the train is full for that specific day ?
Global Pass Question - 11 months to activate or complete travel?
Hi there,Our family is ready to purchase a Global Pass 10 days/2 Months. Per the conditions on the site I see that we have an 11 month deadline to use the pass. Does this mean we have to activate the pass within 11 months, or complete our 10 days of travel within 11 months?Due to possible (but hopefully unlikely) new Covid issues I want to know when would be our last day to cancel the pass and get a full refund? The site says a full refund is possible if one cancels “no later than six months from the last possible activation date of the Pass”.For example if today is January 31(purchase day), Expiration day 11 months from now would be December 31 and 6 months prior to this is June 30. So would June 30 be our latest cancellation day?Our first day of using the rail system will be in late May, so I think we are OK here, but just want to make sure as there seems to be some ambiguity of the terms.Thank you! Seat Reservation on OBB
I booked Amsterdam - Zurich on Interrail and created a QR code for it as seen below. I have 3 questions:To make the seat reservation on OBB website, should I click on '’Ticket Already Exists'’ or '’Standard-Ticket'’? Either way, the seat reservation will be 3 eur. Which one of the 2 options will let me cancel or change the time alors with the reservation for free? '’Standard-Ticket'’ says it will let me cancel and modify the time but what about the 3 eur reservation? What do I show to the controllers? The Interrail QR Code or the one generated by OBB once I buy the 3 eur reservation?
Is the 1st class interrail ticket worth it?
Hi, in August 2022, my girlfriend and I are going for a 1 month Interrail trip. Our route is in nothern europe starting in Helsinki, over Oulu, Stockholm, Oslo, Göteborg, Kopenhagen, Hamburg, Amsterdam, Strassbourg, Zurich, Munich and Vienna.Now we are thinking about getting the 1st class interrail pass which is about €170 more expensive compared to the 2nd class pass. Does anyone know if it’s worth to get the 1st class ticket on this route?Thanks in advance!
Changing from mobile to paper passes
I am having a terrible time trying to contact customer service. No telephone numbers or email address, no response on twitter or chat… :( I just booked interrail tickets for my family yesterday and chose mobile passes as I thought it would be easier and we don’t have much time for them to be posted, but didn’t realise that the passes can’t be moved from devices. During the two months my husband and I will be travelling separately with our children at different points so we have a problem. I need to see if I can switch to paper passes but we leave next week so it is now quite urgent, hence why I am getting frustrated at the inability to reach any sort of customer service. Does anyone know an email address or telephone number that works? Thank you! And happy travels!
Is food on (some or all) trains included in the Pass?
I am planning an Interrail trip in 2022. I will buy a senior Global pass and intend to visit several large cities in Europe. My question is to help me with my budgetting for the trip. Please could someone tell me if a first class senior global interrail pass entitles the holder to complimentary food on the trains and or eurostar- perhaps on some trains and not on others? Or how to find this out. with thanks

Can you print e-tickets at train stations?
Hi! My husband and I just bought the mobile eurail pass. Can our e-tickets be printed at the train stations across Europe or can they only be printed at home? We’re staying in Airbnb’s, so we don’t have access to at home printers. Thank you in advance for your advice :)
Problems making reservations
Once upon a time with an Interrail Pass one just entered where one was going and got on board. Total flexibility. But now everything is digital and limited and needs to be booked ahead and printed out….. I have bought a pass and wish to reserve a place from Brussels to Valence, from there to Barcelona, from there to Madrid. But despite going to the web page for ‘Book reservations’ I only get a red blob telling me that no Trips are entered; I have created a Trip entry but this repeats. The ‘timetable’ I fill in with date and time of planned journey does not then go dark to allow one to press a ‘Search’ or anything similar, just brings me back in a continuous loop to where I already was. This is frustrating. I see from other people’s comments that they, too, have difficulties with making a reservation. What should one do?
A personal experience of using Interrail Passes
After my recent experience with our Interrail Passes, I will not be using them again. Here’s why. First, the process of fixing reservations is unbelievably complex. My partner and I wanted to travel from London to Seville and back, using 4-days-in-30 passes. This was our first experience of long-distance train travel down through Europe. Preparing the trip took me hours of work, much of it very frustrating, mainly in order to set up the required reservations. Some I was able to do on the Interrail site - that was fairly straightforward. Others, like those within Spain, had to be done directly with the operating rail company, who mailed the paper tickets several days later. And even those done through the Interrail site hit problems later, the main one being that, even though I did the bookings for my partner and myself at the same time, and even though our passes were both on the same device, several of the reservations came back with us sitting not only apart, but in different
Eurostar London-Paris reservation. What are the costs?
Hi All!I'll be visiting the UK and would like to purchase tickets for a one day trip to Paris and back. However, when looking up information, I'm a bit confused as to what to pay? Would like to do 1st class seats there, but I am reading that I also have to purchase a reservation. Can someone please guide me to a good website on purchasing tickets and what excited is needed? Also, do I need a global pass for this one day trip?
Is Caledonian Sleeper still included in 2022?
I cannot find the Caledonian Sleeper direct train from London to Edinburgh in the Rail Planner app. There are only options with one transfer. My questions are:(1) Is Eurail pass still valid on this train in 2022 whether it is a direct train or a train with transfer?(2) Is Eurail pass not valid on Caledonian Sleeper direct trains anymore now?Thank you!
I have purchased and activated a 3 day in 1 month Poland Mobile Interrail Pass in first class. The activation process went smoothly. I added my 1st travel day and selected the itinerary. I was able to display the barcoded ticket. With this I obtained my reservations for my journey to Gdańsk from Warsaw.The next day on the morning of travel the pass had disappeared from the app. It was prompting me to add a pass (which of course I already had without issue). The only way to have the pass reappear was to delete and reinstall the app. The pass is now showing but it will not let me add any journeys and will not display a barcoded ticket for the pass. I am furious. There is no support and no advice from Eurrail whatsoever. Reading the terms and conditions they try and wash their hands of ANY problems with the app. Basically you are on your own subject to being fined by the train operator because you cannot provide a valid ticket because the app is faulty and useless. Zugreservierungen in Schweden
Hallo, vielleicht kann mir jemand helfen. Ich versuche auf verschiedene Art und Weise Züge in Schweden zu reservieren und komme nicht zum Ziel. Schon bei der ersten Zugverbindung von Hamburg nach Malmö gelingt es mir nicht weder über die DB noch über die SJ oder Interrail Seite einen Sitzplatz zu reservieren.Ich kann auch nicht über die DB Seite nur die Reservierung buchen wir üblicherweise. Ich vermute ich mache irgendetwas falsch oder kann es sein, dass tatsächlich alle Züge ausgebucht sind.? Ich bin eigentlich diesbezüglich nicht so unerfahren, aber überhaupt nicht mit dem schwedischen Buchungssystem zurecht.Auch die Zugverbindung von Stockholm nach Oslo werden mir als nicht buchbar angezeigt.Bei der SJ App habe ich das Problem dass ich die englische Sprache nicht anwählen kann (trotz Kontakt mit dem Kundendienst Support ist mir das nicht gelungen) auf der Internetseite von SJ kann ich zwar die Züge sehen finde aber nicht den Button „nur Reservierung“.Ich würde mich über eine Antwor
Hallo,Ich bin ein Neuling hier. Wir haben mobile Interrail Global Pass für 22 Tage gekauft. Mit einiger Mühe habe ich es geschafft, den Pass mit unseren Daten " zu bestücken". Als Startdatum habe ich den 25.04.22 angegeben. Nun hat sich unser Startbeginn auf den 26.04.22 verschoben und ich wollte dies in den Details der Reisenden ändern. Es kommt aber die Meldung, dass die Details der Reisenden nicht geändert werden können. Kann bitte jemand weiterhelfen? Vielen Dank
Train from Sofia to Belgrade?
Hi there, Currently there is no route listed between Sofia and Belgrade. I saw someone mentioned the route was closed 8 months ago due to covid but can't find any information since. Is this still the case? If so would someone be able to direct me towards a way to get from Sofia to Belgrade. All the best :)
German seat only no ticket reservation
I have reserved seats no tickets on trains in Germany on DBs platform. My global pass will work as the ticket correct? I'm specifically going Frankfurt to Munich, then onward Munich to Vienna. Normally I could just book the direct ice train. But due to striking tomorrow in Germany I need to do a more convoluted way, and I need confirm seats, because there is a risk I will not get on otherwise. The train tickets are currently around $400, so that's why I need to know if the pass is going to work as my ticket.
