The Slovenian National Railways has announced that heavy storms and flooding have severely impacted train services across Slovenia since 6th August. Some routes in Croatia and Southern Austria have also been affected.

Rail replacement buses and alternate train services have been deployed on certain routes. For more information on train delays and alternate transportation on domestic routes, please check the SZ website

To check which international routes have been affected, please have a look at the OBB website. We also recommend checking the SZ timetable for domestic travel and the OBB timetable for international travel shortly before your planned journey for up-to-date information.

@Sarah W There are lots of problems with the trains due to flooding and hard winds all over Sweden as well.

This is only an example of the disruptions.

Thanks for the information @AnnaB! I’ll quickly make a post about the disruptions in Sweden as well.

Update 17 august: between Ljubljana and Zidani Most track repair work is ongoing (the route is along the flooded Sava river). All trains have delays and local trains are replaced by buses partway. The delays and busreplacements are not visible in the international travelplanners. My advice is not to take the local trains and plan your journey in two fases. from Ljubljana to Maribor and from Maribor to Graz. Add at least twenty minutes delay.
