Last summer, we did a 17 day long Prague - Portugal and back trip on a tight-ish budget and there are a couple of things I wanted to mention:Take a small backpack (BrendanDB was faster:-) Packing light adds to the enjoyment, it will be nice and warm and you can always buy some clothes on the road, if needed. French Rails - they love being on strike. Expect travel disruptions and changes to timetables. Last summer, there were fires in SW France, again, we had to alter our plans. Prague - Munich was partially under reconstruction with a replacement bus service in Germany, nothing really straightforward. And Czech Rails also love doing reconstructions:-( If you´re going in July, accommodation prices will be high. I pre-booked our accommodation (much to my dislike because we had planned to be free) in two stages and the prices differed a lot at the beginning and end of May. I know that prebooking kills the free and adventurous spirit of interrailing but in some places along the sout
https://www.seat61.com/Hi David, the link is a great source of info on train travelling.I'd second Yorkie above in getting a 15 day continuous pass (if it is possible to exchange for the one you've bought). For some more money you will have much more hassle-free travelling, you can split up your journey in shorter sections and be more flexible and avoid worrying about what will happen if you run out of travel days.Enjoy your trip!
No problems in Czechia either.

Skip LOdz, stay longer in Krk and Prahy. Brno-was there again 1 night late oct and frankly, skipping it is also a good idea-stay/try Olomouc, is also better situated for shorter trip times -on main line z Krk do Prahy. I think that issue of restrts if often grossly overhyped and overdone-advice where the locals eat is often also hardly practic-they tend to eat at quite other times over there as you are used to- a big hot meal for lunch @ 11.00 with soup-meat+large beer etc is often the norm. For you its only cf-time. Look for denny menu for 99 CzK for best value offers-set fixed meal, 2 or 3 courses. As I live in Praha (not PrahY) I want to put this info right:Lunch is definitely not at 11 am. More likely 12:00 or a bit later. Soup+meat+large beer??? Certainly not the norm. And good luck finding a menu (denní menu) for 99 Czk. 2-3 courses for this price- absolutely no way, even for 1 course you will have problems finding it, the info above is ridiculous. Also, prices of mostly everythi
And instead of that RYAN there is also like EasyJet - VUeling - WIZZair etc.with low fares and much less hassle. Certainly not much less hassle with Wizzair as they are notorious for cancelling flights. And they do care about doing so more than 14 days before planned departure so that you can't claim compensation.
As such this is a dying thing-it may only still apply to some specific EUrail passes sold via agents. As it it very likely you will arrive in Praha-of course the big main station (hlavna stanice) can do that for you-at the INTERNational desks. It is not 'hlavna stanice' but 'hlavní nádraží'. If you cannot resist the need to use foreign languages, and it often seems that you can't, do get it right, please.
I had to get a new phone because the pass didn't load onto my original phone although all requirements were met. So much for the mobile version, I contacted customer service because of it and never got a reaction. Still cant believe this. Having said that, the mobile version is quite easy to use, even though sometimes it wanted me to be online to load the tiket.
I confirm the strikes, our travel plans have been affected last three days. Today we meant to travel between Nimes and Avignon (and onwards) and our train was cancelled, we took another train two hours later as all the ppl, it was packed, old people having to stand, vive la France:-/
Thanks for your answer. We went today and no problem on both the trains (Lyon - Avignon Centre and Avignon Centre - Arles), surprisingly, they checked the tickets on both the trains. Both were quite full (TER trains).
Problem solved, meaning I got a new phone and the app loaded all three passes easily. Thanks for your suggestions, really, as I was freaking out. What I still don´t understand though is why it didn´t work with the first phone:-/
Thanks to both of you.I read the article, my phone had been set as mentioned, so this didn´t fix the problem.I´ll get another phone and if it doesn´t work I´ll get in touch with the customer service as per above.
