Love all this input. This is gold!
Great stuff, Thank You!
Just starting research. We Fly into Zurich (early May) and will have about 9 days to get a cruise out of Venice. Was planning on some Tuscan travel, but we have seen a bit of Tuscany so trying to get some time in Southeast France. Prefer to travel by train, but will consider a short flight. First look is at Nice, and where we can get from there. Really like the old villages and beautiful mountains. Absolutely willing to consider all options, got 4 months to figure this out. As an additional note: I will be 77 when we travel, fit enough to do it by train, but not willing to rent a car in a foreign country, even if they would allow. We just returned from 3 weeks visiting Christmas markets, and logged over 130 miles on foot, which is what we generally prefer. Thanks,
Thanks again!
Thank you, very helpful. Would be easier if I could find an English version, but think I’ve got most of what I need.
There is nothing like a dresscode in the 1st Class. These times on European publictrains is history :) If they are not naked everything is fine :) Thanks, as I’m sure you are aware Americans have become slobs when they travel.
Are you sure it said “refund”. I just got a refund, in fact I came to this site to complement Eurail on the process. I first thought they were telling me I couldn’t get refunded, but when I looked below in the box where my tickets showed up, it did tell be they were refundable. The reason I was going to post was to let people know that my bank notified me of a pending refund within five minutes of executing the request--nobody it that fast, very impressed.Anyway, if you haven't already, go back and make sure you read it correctly--hope it’s the same as it was for me--just a bit confusing. Good Luck
Thank you! I thought I had deleted the post because immediately after putting it up I found the FAQ’s. Should have been more thorough first, but there is a lot of info to process
Yes that is correct. We currently do not have paper Passes available for Eurail. The only alternative option would be to buy paper Passes at one of the larger train stations in Europe. As we are only selling our Passes online, we cannot provide you with information on where these Passes are sold exactly. Nanja--I really appreciate the help this site has been. I was under the impression that you had to buy Eurail 15 day passes before you got to Europe. Our first stop will be in Rome, will we be able to purchase 15 consecutive day passes there, and Amsterdam?
When you buy 6 Passes you get 6 Activation Codes. with each code you can activate one pass to a mobile device of your choice :) I still prefer the Paperpass to have something as souvenir after the Journey :) Thanks, that’s information I was trying to find. I would prefer paper, based on your previous response, but I can’t currently purchase paper on the Eurail site. We travel in early September, so have a little time but was going to take advantage of the “pass protection” offer. Suggestions for obtaining paper passes right now?
Hello, new to this level of train travel, and desperately trying to figure out how to put together a trip for six by rail.
seewulf--thanks for the response. I am almost certainly wasting a bit of money purchasing consecutive day passes--this is one of those “once in a lifetime” trips and there is already some money “wasted” on airfare and lodging. I want the train to be part of the whole experience, so really don’t want to worry about anything other than hopping the correct train, and if end up in the wrong spot, I want to just jump on the next train and get to our destination. I love tech, but it looks like the paper pass is more foolproof. I want everyone to have their own ticket--there may be a time we don’t want to travel together.I simplifying the question: which is the most foolproof, paper or mobile?
