Hello all!In 12 days time I’m starting my first interrail trip! I just wanted to ask you all for some help/tips on what to/not to pack. Our route is as follows:28th July - 31st Madrid 31st - 2nd August Barcelona 2nd - 4th Naples 4th - 6th Florence 6th - 8th Bologna 8th - 10th Munich 10th - 14th Prague 14th - 17th Berlin 17th - 18th Amsterdam 18th - 19th Rotterdam 19th - 20th Brussels 20th - 22nd Paris and finally 22nd - 27th Bordeaux So overall there’s a lot of hot countries, so shorts and light clothing has already been acquired, but I just wanted to ask for help on items like packing squares, first aid kits, towels etc. What are other essentials other than the obvious like clothes, toiletries, power banks etc, that some of you more experience travellers would recommned? Thank you all so much in advance for the help!
Hello people! As my previous question insinuates, I am going on an interrail trip this summer. We start in Dublin, catching a flight to Madrid and ending in Paris. I have just one question for some people(Mostly Irish) about Carry on bag rules. So I have my flights booked that allows me to have a 10kg Carry On and a 20kg Checked bag if I want to, but obviously the horror stories of lost bags in Airports has set me off checking in my bag if I can avoid it as much as possible. So I have recently purchased a bag from Decathlon, it’s a Forclaz 50L Men’s trekking bag, link here: https://www.decathlon.ie/backpacks-41-liters-and-more/309807-72760-men-s-mountain-trekking-rucksack-trek-100-easyfit-50l-black.html#/demodelsize-254no_size/demodelcolor-8559690It’s dimensions are 58cm Height, 26cm Wide and 26cm of Depth. My question to people who have travelled Aer Lingus before with their carry on bags, do you think I’d get away with bringing that on and not checking it in? It is slightly taller tha
Hello all! Please excuse my total lack of knowledge here. I’m a first time inter-railer trying to sort out a map for my first little adventure. I thought it would be an amazing way to spend the summer just after I graduate. I have a route in mind, but I’m really not sure if it works at all. I’ve been trying to look at what trains fall under the interrail, but sometimes it can get a bit confusing, especially around Spain and France, but this is the proposed route I’ve come up with for my first experience. So we’d be starting in Dublin, as that’s where I’m from, and flying in to Madrid to start this journey.Madrid → BarcelonaBarcelona → Milan (I'm not sure if you can get a direct train; I’d imagine you need to stop off at Marseille or Nice.)Milan → VeniceVenice → FlorenceFlorence → BolognaBologna → Milan (using this as a bridge to get to Munich)Milan → MunichMunich → PraguePrague → BerlinBerlin → Amsterdam(I assume again we’d need to get a transfer from Cologne or something close to it.)
