So have just returned home after 5 weeks in Europe with my daughter using Eurail Global passes. I just want to say THANK YOU for all the amazing help I received for my many questions! I really was stressing before we left as train travel is not a big thing in Australia and it all seemed so daunting. But all went super smoothly and it really was because I felt prepared with all the help I received here. Already planning another trip haha!
We are travelling tomorrow in the Thalys from Brussels-Midi to Gare du Nord. My seat reservation is for 9422 but the train number coming up in the rail planner is 9322. The trains appear to be the exact same schedule. Is it the same train or do I need to somehow find the 9422 in the planner? If it is the same will it be an issue that my ticket is 9322 but my reservation is for 9422? Thanks!
Currently in Amsterdam and about to use my pass for the first time. I noticed at the station you need a ticket to scan at the turnstiles to access the platforms. Is this where I scan the QR for that day in my pass? Also I need to buy a supplement, can I do that on the train??
I added all my journeys into the app in My Trip a couple of weeks ago. When I went to check today all the journeys had disappeared? So frustrating and not sure how to retrieve them without adding them all again. Any ideas???Also when I look at the trains for Switzerland they are all coming up as “Not in Pass network”??? I have checked the app version and it updated 3 days ago. Does this mean I can no longer use the pass in Switzerland. Leaving in a few days and this is stressing me out.
I have my app on my phone all set up and ready to activate closer to the date of travel. I have added my proposed journeys into My Trip and booked and printed seat reservations where they are needed.My question is I can’t see the grey switch to toggle when I want to add the journey to my pass. Will this only appear once I have activated my pass?Am I right that on the day of travel I flick the toggle switch to yellow to generate the QR code for all journeys on that particular day?Thank you in advance for your answers! As an older lady it is sometimes difficult to get your head around this stuff!
Is anyone able to tell me why I am seeing this message for this train in May? I was of the understanding that we don’t need to book seats for trains in Switzerland but am unsure what to do here. Does this mean this train is already booked out? Thanks for any help!!
I have booked seat reservations in advance Brussels to Paris on April 25 using the link to Belgian trains provided in this community and had no issue booking the seats, however the seat confirmation lists the train number as 9422 whereas the one I have in my journey is 9322.They are both Thalys, leaving Bruxelles-Midi and 10.13.I am wondering why the numbers are different, I can’t imagine 2 Thalys trains leaving at exactly the same time. If it is this same train will I have an issue with the ticket and seat reservation having different numbers?
I am trying to buy seat reservations for France. It’s slightly more than 90 days so I can’t book the reservations through the Rail Planner app as they are not available yet.However each time I look the trains seem to be booking out quickly so is there a way I can book them on the French rail SNCF website? I can’t find where to do it anywhere through the search function on their website.
I ordered my daughters and my passes on one order, but we each have added our own pass on our own device. I am doing all the bookings however, so if I duplicate my trip and add her pass number to the second trip on my device - will the bookings then show up on her phone so she can access her ticket?I would prefer us to have tickets and access on our own devices in case one of us loses or damages our phone.
My 20 year old daughter and I will be travelling together. I have bought the passes on the same order but not sure if its best to have both passes on my phone to make bookings and reservations or we have our pass on our own devices, If I book them together on my device, does she also need to have the app on her phone? My understanding is she can have her pass on her phone, I can then add her to make the booking. Can I do this in the app or only on the website?? It’s so confusing!
