I wasn’t able to book a nightjet ticket for July on the Amsterdam to Vienna route via ÖBB as there weren’t any routes showing in my search. So I asked ÖBB’s customer services why this was, and got a reply today: “The reason why the Nightjet from Amsterdam to Vienna is not bookable is due to construction works. The timetable still has to be worked out for this. Therefore, please keep trying to book the desired journey.” Does anyone know about this, and when the timetable is likely to be “worked out”? I am a bit confused about the advice to keep trying! I’ve got a whole family holiday resting on very specific travel requirements, so would appreciate a bit of help understanding if I should just find an alternative if if it’s likely I’ll be able to book this route in a few months. I could ask ÖBB but the last reply took 11 days so thought it would be faster here. Thanks!
HI there, I hope you can help. This will be a really long post so if it’s too much to read all of it, the main questions are:(1) does my itinerary below actually count as 4 travel days (based on using night trains)?(2) I think I need 3 journeys on 3 separate days in total, within my own country. This apparently isn’t allowed on the Interrail ticket. Is there any way round this, for example if you’re using nightjet and there’s no other route (Germany’s pretty big)?Long version:I’ve booked a holiday house on the South Coast of France (near Cannes), and we decided this year that it’s too far by car, and we won’t take the plane. So we’ll take the train - great! And a sleeper, as it’s a long journey, what fun!I think i’ve figured out the easiest route now, which was complicated by long journeys needing night trains and then seeing a stop in Italy makes sense to add some extra holiday. I was getting ready to book the 4 day Interrail passes for the family, but i’ve just discovered a rather aw
I live in Germany, not so far from the Dutch border. I want to travel to Italy and France this summer, but start from Amsterdam as the nightjet starts from there. I rashly booked an expensive holiday house last night, after working out that me and the family could have some fun with an Interrail ticket and visit a few places on the way. I went to book the Interrail ticket and saw the home country travel rule. Oh! Now I think it might not be possible to holiday as i’d planned so I really need your help. The plan is to leave on a Wednesday, from where I live in Germany (near the Dutch border) to Amsterdam to catch the nightjet NJ40295 that evening. This goes direct to Munich overnight, arrives Thursday morning. I need to be in Munich for the connection to Milan on Thursday evening, also a nightjet, so arriving on Friday morning. Have I already reached my home country travel limit? I mean, i’m just leaving the country, but it takes a long long time in that direction! And I still need to g
