Train connections & reservations

Have booked Buchs SG to Zagreb sleeper but wondering if I could get on at Zurich instead  would we be able to access our compartment or would we have to sit in the normal part of the train  if there is one     

I'm looking at the trains for February 18th leaving Brussels Midi for London St Pancras and there is only 1 timetable in the morning.However, when I look at other Sundays, there are other times... Ex. February 11thIs it a holiday? Is there a possibility that schedules will have reservations in a few days?I’m a Global Pass 2nd class 

English (german below/Deutsch unten)I understand that you have 2 travel days to get out of country and to get back into your country (of residence). My Plan is to use IC40600 from Karlsruhe to Hamburg and then moving from Hamburg to Kobenhaven. The Train departs at 23.06 and apparently there for those 54 minutes are my travelday inside my country of residence. (and german trains are never punctual). Is it actually necessary that I book a later train? So wie ich es verstehe hat man 2 Reisetage um in und aus dem Wohnsitzland zu reisen. Ich würde gerne den IC40600 von Karlsruhe nach Hamburg nutzen und anschliessend von Hamburg nach Kopenhagen fahren. Der Zug fährt um 23.06 ab und dadurch wird anscheinend jener Tag bzw jene 54 min als dieser Reisetag angezeigt. Ist es tatsächlich notwendig jetzt ne Stunde später den zug zu nehmen? Ist ja ziemlich unlogisch gemacht. Dauernd alles flexibel reden aber 0-24 uhr einstellen statt ein 24 stündiges zeitfenster. Totaler quatsch.

Hallo, Ik wil graag de reis inplannen en eventueel een reservering bijboeken. Maar bij elke reis zowel zonder als met reservering krijg ik deze melding:Niet beschikbaar voor sommige reizigers´Sommigen van je reizigers hebben een Pas die niet geldig is in deze trein. Wijzig je geselecteerde reizigers om deze zitplaats te reserveren.´Ik heb de pas al wel toegevoegd op mijn naam. Ik wil zaterdag 24 september om 19:32 vertrekken vanaf Enschede naar Milaan.  Groetjes,Wieteke

Hi everyone,I’m a bit confused. I bought a rail pass to travel next christmas and today, the 15th of october, there is still no train timetable available on interrail website further than the 10th of december.I’m afraid it will be too late. For example, the SNCF in France launched tickets for christmas holidays and most of the tickets on the main lines have been sold.I’m a bit disappointed and I’m thinking of asking for a refund for my pass and eventually buy a flight ticket I would have paid 100 euros less if I had bought it last month…Any advice ?

Hi!  I need to make a seat reservation for Milano Centrale - Firenze S.M.N on 21/04/22 for 2 adults. Is there a way to book just seats on TreinItalia? I can’t get the Interrail one to work. Also when I look the journey up on TI it only gives me the whole ticket price. I can’t see an option to choose Seat OnlyThe app says you only need a seat reservation for the first leg of the journey and then change at Pisa Centrale. are there any other companies for Italian trains to book seat only reservations? Any help would be great! 

I am going to Paris > London > Switzerland > Italy & intend to buy the 4 days within 1 month Global pass.2 questions:1. If I plan to depart London at 2200hrs on Day 1 & arrive Switzerland at 0900hrs on Day 2, will it be considered as 1 or 2 travel days?2. Do I have to pay additional for the "transfer by public transport" during stops / change between stations?Advice much needed!

Are there others who have trouble booking seat reservations for your Interrail trip during the summer holidays? I will travel in mid-July.  I have never had any problems booking seat reservations with Interrail in the past, which I have tried several times. The Website and the App just stand and search without any result. I have problems both in the Railplanner App and on the website www.interrail.eu I am trying to book seat reservations between Bologna and Munich /day time. My itenary is Copenhagen- Basel-Zurich-Chur-Tirano-Montorosso-Bologna-Munchen-Salzburg-Copenhagen. However, it only says in the App that it is Bologna-Munich that requires a seat reservation. But is it not also a good idea to book a seat reservation on the Copenhagen-Basel and Salzburg-Copenhagen routes? I am eager to receive some good advice. 

Can I reserve seats together for travelers who have both eurail and interrail mobile passes? Scenario:I am having issues when entering the pass cover number for the interrail traveler on traveler details (I am using order number which does not work).How do I obtain the pass cover number for the interrail mobile pass? I have seen several posts with this same issue but no good answer !Thanks.

I will be travelling from Barcelona to Cologne via Lyon and Brussel. I have no problems to make my seat reservations from Lyon to Cologne, but not from Barcelona to Lyon. I have a 5 day/ 1month euro rail pass .What I can see from this group that in Spain seat reservations can only be made at a ticket office. I will be travelling on 11 June and arrive in Barcelona on 9 June. Should 2 days before be enough to get 2 seats on this route, or can a seat reservation be bought before hand by phone, calling renfe?ThanksHorst

Hi, I never travelled with interrail. I live in Angers in France. I would like to visit Spain. I wonder if I can use the interrail pass to travel from Angers to Barcelone, means leaving Angers at around 6am to reach Barcelona at 9pm after 2 or 3 connections in France. Can you help me? Thanks

Hello everyone,So, I’m having great trouble reserving a sleeper cabin on the GWR Night Riviera Sleeper. From the GWR website the reservation with an interrail ticket can’t be made. I called them up and they said that by phone they won’t book them anymore either (apparently this has been like this since a few months - they had trouble with mismatching passes).The main SBB station in Berne can’t book reservations anymore for most train companies in the UK either and the interrail website, when working, tells me that it can’t be booked through them either.On the phone GWR advised me to book directly from a station in the UK, however I fear that by the time I’m there there likely won’t be a cabin anymore.I believe it might be possible to have a friend in the UK book the reservation for me, but surely there must be some way that it can be done from abroad? Would it be possible to buy a regular ticket and have the ticket fee reimbursed?I’m sure someone has done similar and I hope there is a

Hello all! Very new to all this, but I’ve had absolutely no luck paying for seat reservations at all. The only leg of my journey I can’t afford to use the “no seat reservation” filter is from Amsterdam to London (travelling on 13th or 14th April). I thought a couple of weeks in advance would have been enough, but am I being completely naïve?! I would have thought there’d at least be some potential to get a ticket… Any words of wisdom around this would be greatly appreciated, before I go ahead and book a flight (boo).

Hi! I’m going to be travelling with my interrail pass, together with 2 of my parents (Eurail pass holders) and now we are on the stage of trying to book all the necessary reservation seat. I have several questions:So after learning how to work with the app, is it true that in the interrail app itself, we only need to save the trip routes in our app, then slide and activate the yellow QR code on the day of travel (this is to show the ticketing staff that we have the ticket for the train). Whereas for the reservation seat, we just need to purchase separately from the official website (e.g. SBB, DB, RailEurope, TrenItalia, etc). So later on we have an e-ticket of the number of the seat as well from these websites. Is this correct? I’m trying to book our first seat reservation (for the train of Paris Est -> Strasbourg on 23rd July at 06.52 A.M just like the one stated on the rail planner app). Hi thereThis is our first time interrailing - my friend and I are in our 60’s and finding it long winded and confusing so I am turning to this community for enlightenment and hopefully guidance! I have booked 2 seats on 14.29 St Pancras Eurostar 25th September 2023. We wanted the earlier train but at the time of booking earlier was not available. I believe earlier is now available but on the Eurorail website where my booking is to be found it says there is no option to change. Is that correct? I find that quite surprising.  ALSO ! Having found the night train we wanted Wednesday 27th September Bruges to Vienna 1808hr - 0915hr I go to book it on the Eurrail and no seats are available. Hello together,we got a few general questions regarding the reservation-booking. We used the reservation booking tool from interrail but it shows us following message for bookings in denmark:“No results were found for this connection. Please try again or find an alternative booking method.”. If I click on the alternative booking method, there’s either a callcenter provided or it says I have to book it at the trainstation. Is any trainstation meant or the trainstation in denmark where we want to take the train from? Is the callcenter also working for every country or only for switzerland, because there’s written that its especially for switzerland.  Is it also working if we just book/buy the reservations short time before the departure or do we have the risk that there’s no space left?    We are looking forward hearing from you!Alex & Friends We are travelling from germany to norway.

Hey Community, does somebody know why Interrail isn’t providing a booking platform for train journey in europe? They already have their business partners, so why make it so complicated? I mean there is “thetrainline.com” but even there you actually don’t book your tickets together, when you travel internationally. You always buy seperate tickets together, which has plenty of disadvantages.

I can not get up the two train rides I have made for my trip! The app is glitchy and sometimes they switch and show a different train ride than the one I just saw. How am I supposed to get the tickets if it keeps being this way? I am on iphone. 

I'm travelling from London Euston next Wednesday on the 19.46 to Liverpool Lime Street. If I go straight to Liverpool I need a € 6 seat reservation. The journey takes 2h 21m. If I take the same train from Euston without a reservation I have to change at Crewe to wait for the next EXP train that gets to LLS at 23.17, a total of 3h 31m! If I bought a normal second class ticket with a senior rail card the seat reservation is free, or not necessary. But I've already got a Senior Interrail global pass, so why the cost? Just because it's quicker, even though I'm using the same train an hour later. Or shall I just risk it and pretend I caught the earlier train from London and waited at Crewe for this one... Any suggestions 🤔 

Hello, I am trying to reserve beds for me and my family (2 adults, 2 children) on the night train EN40459 between Mannheim and Prague on the 1st of August. On the nightjet website it says that there are no offers available for "Couchette carriage", but for "sleeper cabin", but it only includes compartments for a maximum of 3 people (we are 4) and separated by gender. Is there no chance that the four of us can share a single compartment? Also, the price is quite expensive (€276) considering that we already have an Interrail pass. Thank you very much for your answers

We received an email that our Thalys train, on 15\7\2023, from Brussels Midi to Paris Nord, was cancelled. Did anybody else get this?But iff you go to their website, you can still book the same route, same day, same time. But the price is now 3 times as high. I feel like they are cancelling so they can book our seat at higher prices. Anybody know what is really going on?
