When to connect a trip to my mobile Pass?

Hello there 

So I am new to the whole interrail thing. And I was wondering, when do I have to ”connect a trip” to my mobile Pass?

I know I can “activate” the Pass on the first day of travel, but can I “connect” it at any time between now and then? Or do I have to connect it now to keep it from expiring early or somethig?


I know I am propably overthinking this, but thanks for any help beforehand

You don’t have to connect a trip until just before you board the train.
