Hi,we are from Germany, have got two Interrail global passes and want to travel through Europe. On our way out, we plan to visit town A in Germany. Town A is not located on the way directly from our home town to the border, but it would absolutely be possible to travel from our home town to town A and then to the border on one day, our outbound journey day. Is this possible or is it not allowed to take other ways in one’s home country from the home town to the border and v. v. than the direct one? Thanks for your answers :-)
Hi to all! At the moment, as having described in the last topic, we are planning a trip through France and Italy together and unfortunately, it is not possible to get coherent seats in some trains. That’s why I’d like to ask those who have already travelled to France and Italy if it is a problem if you choose other than the reserved seats in a train where the reservation is compulsory - assumed the train is not crowded and there are many empty seats. Is it important to take exactly the reserved seat showed in the reservation or is it sufficient to take the train mentioned there? Which purpose follows the reservation in France and Italy - just the one that every traveller gets a seat or also the other one that every traveller is assigned to a special seat? I’ve also read nothing about a fine for travellers just using another seat but the same train. Thanks for your answers!
Hello! In May, we (2 persons) are going to travel from Stuttgart to Paris on ICE. Having bought two Interrail Global Passes for us on the same account, I also booked two reservations together (in one order!) on the Interrail website for this train. Unfortunately, by consulting a seat map of DB Fernverkehr, I found out that these two seats aren’t located side by side but one after another at the window, although I bought the passes together on the same account (and not seperately) only in order to get coherent reservations. How can I change this reservation to one with two seats side by side? Is this only possible by cancelling my reservation at interrail.com and by ordering again at a DB oder SNCF travel agency or is interrail.com able to change this, too? Thanks for your answerTraveltogether
