We (2 adults, two children 2,5) would like to travel in Sveden with Interrail first class.
We would like to go with x2 / x2000 train from Malmö to Gotenburg  but on Interrail app, a reservation is 19€. Four times 19€ seems a little expensive to me.

Are there any cheaper options / is reservation really needed? or are there any benefits like free meal?

A 1st class reservation in the X2000 is SEK 150, or a bit over €13. Book on sj.se. Reservation is mandatory in this train.

From Malmö to Göteborg, there are also reservation-free trains every hour.

Thank you. Yes but we wanted to go with an x2000… do you know if they go anywhere without reservations?

Reservations are always mandatory on them. You could travel in 2nd class to save a bit though.

2nd class in X2000 is indeed only SEK 65, or about €5.70.
