Hello everyone!
I’m planning my trip this August and I noticed that I could benefit from some ferry discounts to travel between Greece and Italy (30-100% off) on board Superfast and ANEK ferries.

As I read in the site: “As a Pass holder you can get from 30% off (surcharges for port taxes and fuel apply) up to 100% off (if you have a Global Pass).” I have a 15days straight pass (2nd class) but when I tried to book the tickets I could only get a 30% discount…

Note: I’m planning to travel from Ancona (Italy) to Patra (Greece) at 18th August.

Hi @EleniAv

Indeed this information will be updated. The discount for Global Pass holders is 30%.

Have a lovely day!

In fact, for the Superfast ferries Italy-Greece, the actual discount varies by the season. During the high season, the extra changes (which only apply to global pass holders) are higher than at other times.

Hello!
Do you know how much the price would be right now with the Global Pass?
I also found the information that with global pass it would be 100% off and just the port fee and fuel...
And does the ferry trip count as one or two travel days?

Sadly it has not been updated until now. What use has the interrail website when you have to look for the right information here in the community.

We stand here at the ferry port in Igoumenitsa and we wanted to take the overnight ferry to Ancona. In your description on the website it says clearly that we can use a travel day. The people here from Minoan as from Superfast know nothing about that and just want to give us a small discount (Minoan only 20% our friend traveling with us got the same discount without interrail ticket). We extra saved a travel day for that trip, that is now useless and we had to pay 140,- €
We’d like to have it refunded.
Very disappointed

Minoan only give 20% discount to begin with, so you don't need a travel day.

Superfast sometimes claim you can travel on the pass but at the same time they have quite high charges that only apply to pass holders, so effectively it's only a discount and I wouldn't use a pass day for them either.

Yeah, that’s what I know now. But the interrail website clearly says different.

Indeed, that's not correct. What's the URL?

Are you sure that this isn't a text referring to the 6-day Greek Island Pass?

But it also says that that on a discounted ferry you don't need a travel day.

As I see it this is a general text for how travel days work with ferries.

The info from Interrail regarding the Minoan Ferry is very clear. There is a discount of 20%.

Hm yes, but in reality, there are only night ferries left where you get a discount, so this text is misleading and should be deleted.

I'll add this to my list of items to be discussed with the Eurail team.

It says the same for ANEK. If you have a pass valid in Italy and Greece and you travel by night ferry, you have to use a travel day. I‘d say that this is very clear.

How can we get in contact with the customer service of interrail?

Reading the relevant pages it seems as if it is written for a paper pass. For a mobile pass is there a link in the planner for overnight ferries or can/should they be manually added to create or add to a travel day?

Also I assume there will be a reservation fee based on any sleeping arrangements.

You only need to use a travel day if you have free travel. Not when you get a discount. This is also true for night ferries. Since Minoan are quite clear that you get a 20% discount, this text about using a travel day should be deleted.
