If that's the only journey, do not buy an Interrail pass, likely not worth the cost.
Book advance tickets through sncf-connect.com right now.
If the direct TGVs are too expensive, search from Basel SBB to Paris and you'll be offered more options. (In addition buy Zurich - Basel on SBB app or sbb.ch, saver ticket or regular ticket).
