We will be flying into Milano arriving at 11:00 AM. My hope is that we can take a train to Tirano in time to Get on the Berina Express to St. Moritz. Is this possible? Some sites show the last train out at 15:54, others show a 17:40 available. Our travel date is October 6th.
So confusing for an American to understand train travel… I wish we had a better train network in the United States!

The last Bernina express runs at 16.06 but there are regional trains too on this route. E.g. at 17.00 and 17.41.
Just keep in mind that it gets early dark in October - you might miss some of the best scenery if you start so late.
If you are not in a rush, then a one night stopover somewhere between Milano and Tirano would be worth it.
