I have manage to make a reservation for this section of the Bernina express. But since you are not able to add this section to your planner using the app, how do I proofe to the busdriver that I do have a ticket?

This bus is in the planner. It runs from "Tirano Stazione Bus” to Lugano

Also remember you can always add trains and buses manually.

@Nanja, "Tirano Stazione Bus” should be grouped with Tirano just like "Lugano, Stazione Nord” (the Lugano stop of this bus) is grouped with Lugano.

@Nanja

This info should be maybe be displayed on the Eurail site somewhere. This traveller is not the only one getting the paper pass stuck in the US customs.

I've informed the relevant team about it. Cheers,

Update: according to our reservation team, Eurail, doesn't group any stations. This is done in Merits and information comes from carriers. Now, as for Lugano it is grouped with other stations (how SBB provided), Tirano is not. So if this station to be grouped together, it would have to be changed in Merits.

What about the buses from Tirano to Lugano - is it possible that you won't be able to get on if you don't make a reservation?

If the bus is not full, then maybe the driver can still sell reservations. If the bus is already fully booked however, then you won't be able to board.

Hi Paul. If I were you I would ignore the busses and take the train. I have done the route twice. First with the expensive Bernina bus. It was terrible. Very cramped space. The windows were tinted so dark that you could see nothing. It is much better to just take a train from Tirano to Milano. Much much better. With my first trip I was not aware of the existance of a train. It is beautiful all along the shores of lake Como.
