Hi Guys,

I am planning an interrail and so that the trains from Belgrade to Thessaloniki are no longer running. Therefore, I was wondering what would be the best way from Zagreb to Thessaloniki.

Zagreb - Budapest - Bucharest - Sofia and then a Bus to Thessaloniki

Zagreb - Split - Discounted ferry to Ancona - Discounted ferry to Patras and then with a included bus - Rail service to Thessaloniki

Zagreb - Ljubljana - Trieste - Italian Harbour ferry  to Patras

This is if you really fancy trains (which are in general not overly comfy as in the west over there) so much or are determined to use that pass. Normal people fly (WIZZair is the cheapo for east-eur) or take the bus.

The long roundabout way via HU-RO-BG will take at least 3 traveldays.
