Bordeaux - Basque country

Looking to travel from Bordeaux over to Spain to explore the Basque Country, San Sebastián and Bilbao would be ideal. However the trains don’t look the best, says it’ll be 26 hours of travelling which feels a bit much. is there anything we are missing or is that just the way it is? Cheers!,

Travel to Hendaye with SNCF, then further to San Sebastian and Bilboa with Euskotren. EUskotren is not in any planner except their own, so that's why you don't see journeys with them. Pass is not valid but they're cheap. Also see Seat61:
