Hi hoping to get some help please with travelling from Rome to Como on 17 July. Is it possible to do this without reservations? Also, is there a railway station near Biboli Park in Florence and lockers so that we could have a wander around and then get back one of the next trains as we will be using a eurail travel day? Is this allowed? We haven't used our eurail pass yet. Thanks for any advice that you can give to make the most out of this proposed travel day.

Rome - Milan without reservations would require 5 different trains and 10-11 hour journey time.

Direct on a compulsory reservation train is 3-3.5 hours, I’d pay the modest reservation fee personally.
