I would like to know if the night train (EN 40465) from zurich to zagreb need seat reservation because i cant find a way to reserve a seat. The app is confused aswell.

Yes reservations are mandatory on all types of accommodation. Book through tickets.oebb.at (no booking fee).
What is your travel date ? It is possible that it is sold out since night trains are very popular.
