How to get from Athens to Igoumenitsa?

Hello!

Has anyone travelled from Athens to Igoumenitsa (ferry station)? Apparently there are no trains available for that route, so what would be the most logical option? I would assume some sort of train + bus combo, but where should I take the train to from Athens? I’ve been searching and checking and found some options, but just wondering if there is a “standard” route many take. :)

Thank you!

Hi @kattobatonki

Unfortunately, there's no railway connection to Igoumenitsa. You can either go by bus from Athens to Igoumenitsa, OR try to take a direct morning train from Larissa station in Athens to Kalambaka and take a bus from Kalambaka to Igoumenitsa.

You can check the Greek railway timetable on https://tickets.hellenictrain.gr/dromologia/?lang=en
