My friends and I are planning on doing an Interrail trip this summer and we had a question about the seat reservations. Some trains seem to be fully booked on the days we were planning on taking them but the seat reservations are not required to board the train. Is it possible to still take the train without sitting down or is the seat required to board the train ?

If reservations are not required, then you should be able to board, as long as the train is not too full.
You may also be too early for some trains. Or the Interrail booking website just doesn't work (again). For detailed advice, please specify per train: origin, destination, date, departure time.
