If I take a train or a ferry in the afternoon and it arrives the next day at night or in the morning, does it count as 2 days of travel to the pass?

A night train, or a ferry where you travel for free, counts as one travel day. As long as you stay on the same train/ferry after midnight CET.

BUT there are no more ferries that are ´free’ that go overnight. Only with discount=in such a case you do not need to use passdays. For trains: dep.day counts-except the odd exception (of course the odd man out in GB). As is overly lcear to read in the general info
