We're taking a train from Kopenhagen to Hamburg,  on the app it did not say that reservations are needed,  but now that we're on the train the train conductor says we need one. Is this common? Is there a way to figure out if trains require it even tho it dosn't say on the app? And what should we do hahaha . Quick help appreciated

Hi, yes in Summer direct IC trains between Copenhagen and Hamburg via Fredericia need a reservation. Always double check via train company of the train (in this case DB and DSB) + also Interrail.eu site about the country and this community.

You can buy one online via DSB B-Europe, you could buy from fredericia or the next possible station to take this train (if seats are available).

EDIT: For today it is not more possible online, ask for help to the train staff or at the train ticket office.
