I'm looking at a train from Luxembourg to Stuttgart. There is one that leaves Luxembourg at 1124am and has 2 stops, the trip between Luxembourg to Strasbourg and from Strasbourg to Karlsruhe show reservations required do I pay for both trains in Luxembourg or do I have to buy the reservations at both Luxembourg and Strasbourg.

Which date you want to travel?

11h24 seems to be with a lot of TGV trains (reservations needed) and taking quite long. The TGVs don’t go long via the high-speed lines, so there’s no point using them. You’ll be as quick, if not quicker by rerouting with regional trains. You’lld better leave a bit later and go over Trier and Mannheim. No (costly) reservations needed, and about as quick.

Would look like this:

I'd suggest avoiding France with mandatory reservations. This route including a bus is also possible :

- Bus Luxembourg - Saarbrücken Hbf 11:15 - 12:35 5€ on cfl.lu

- RE Saarbrücken Hbf - Mannheim Hbf 12:47 - 14:21

- ICE Mannheim Hbf - Stuttgart Hbf 14:30 - 15:08
