Hi there,

We are travelling in France this month and have been having an impossible time booking tickets. We have managed to book our first train over the phone with SNCF (the 00 33 1 84 94 3635 number did not work, had to do +33 1 84 94 3635), but it was not a smooth process and we're uncertain it would work in the future. They don't take all cards and had to use a family member's AMEX, as they didn't take any of ours.

We really need our Pass Cover Numbers so that we can book the rest of the trip, we're using all 8 days so quite a few bookings.

Thanks in advance,

Caleb

(Wishing the best for all customer service at Eurail, with how busy it seems to be)

I think that the best thing would be to either call SNCF again and make all the remaining reservations at once or you can call  b-europe and make the reservation. No need of Pass Cover Number.

The phone call is rather expensive.

To get your Pass Cover Number, if you still will need it, you need to contact Customer Support through this form and ask for the Pass Cover Number.

Customer Support is currently overloaded with requests so you will probably have to be patient to get help. Please let Customer Support know what date your travel will start so that they can prioritise your request correctly.

The problem with phone calls is that we aren't in our home country, and have limited global roaming minutes on top of spotty hotel wifi.

It's just so frustrating that booking an online pass doesn't working with reserving seats online.

Once you're in France, then booking reservations can also be done at the ticket office. You can check availability via the b-europe site.

For other trains and countries, it depends. Often booking at a station ticket office works just as well.

Oh that's good to hear, I guess we'll try do them all once we land in France.

Thanks for the help and advice!
