Hello

I am gojng interrailing with 3 friends in juli. We want to make reservations for trains in Italia but it's not possible. The interrail app keeps bugging and if we actually see some trains to reserve, it gives an error 'Prices not available' or 'Come back later'. Fine, but I have tried making reservations for over a week now and it is not working. Deutsche Bahn also gives an error, stating 'reservations not available'. Italiarail is also bugging.

Would someone please help us. We are leaving in a month and i am getting a bit disappointed and frustrated, unfortunately.

I will post our full route later today in a comment, but if someone is willing to help us, we would like to reserve this train (first).

The train from Lauterbrunnen (or Interlaken-Ost) leaving around 11:02/04 and arriving at Florence around 17:04. On 12 juli.

Thank you so much for helping!

For trains in Italy and from Switzerland to Italy, it's best to use ÖBB. Do NOT use the "Seat only” option but add the "Interrail / Eurail” discount to all persons and then look for normal tickets. It's best to book trains separately.

For domestic trains in Switzerland, don't book any reservations; that's a waste of money.

Just tested this and for some reason, the Spiez to Milan train doesn't give any results although it is open for booking (as you can see on www.trenitalia.com). You could call ÖBB (+43 5 1717) and see if they have more success. They should be able to send reservations by email.

Have you had a look at the guide on how to make reservations that some of the experienced travelers have made?

Trains to/from and in Italy should be able to book through ÖBB, the Austrian Railway.

Hi! Thanks for your help. We already have global passes. Do we still avoid using ‘seat only'?

Global passes are Interrail/Eurail.
