We paid for couchette for 5 through inter rail but Trenitalia says it’s seats only. We paid for 215euro - all the details are correct but the emailed tickets are for seats only and Trenitalia confirmed our names are not on the train other than for seats. We travel in a couple of hours with 3 tired kids. We need inter rail to send correct tickets but no way to get in touch directly. Anyone had this experience and suggest what to do ? Thanks!!

You need to make new reservations, but don't do that at Interrail. What route are you travelling?  

 

Then you ask Customer Support for a refund of the 215 EUR. There has been lots of problems with the Italian reservations through Interrail so you are far from alone getting into trouble. 


For nighttrain in Italy you have to book via train station ticket offices like DB, SBB CFF FFS, SNCB/NMBS, NS International or 

Trenitalia Ticket offices in Italy or Paris Gare de Lyon or Lyon Part Dieu.


Thanks Anna. We’re travelling Salerno to Milan on an overnight. I think you’re right we have no option but to rebuy the couchette places and get a refund from interrail. Thanks for response
