Hello,

We have a 2nd class Eurorail pass and started traveling this morning. The trains from Paris to Stüttgart today are full so we had to purchase 1st class tickets for that part of our trip at full cost. Are we able to get a partial refund and if so, how?

Thank you

NO-but your post leaves more questions as:

1.you could very well have used other trains-probably with some change en-route

2.you did not state if you used now a travelday or not

3.IF yes-you would have only had to pay the 50% difference of 2nc cl price-to 1st.

All in all what we see here so often-people have no idea how the rails work and what to do and that choose the most expensive option.

Unfortunately, we do not reimburse full fare point-to-point tickets due to seat reservations being unavailable. We do recommend that travelers make reservations as far in advance as possible when traveling during the high season between March and September. If trains are fully booked it's also worth seeing if an earlier/later train has seats available or try a different route.
