I’m still deciding whether to ;purchase a pass and need to know if there is seat availability for Eurail pass holder from Paris to Luzern on 13 Aug. Any ideas how to find this? thanks

If this is ONLY trip-then a pass has no value-it is for MIN 4 days. Most likley there will with plans for longer trips more issues with REServ.
You need to change anyway somewhere-if you can manage to do it more as once the chances rise to 99,99% certainty you will find some space oa a FRench TGV till near Swiss-then there are hourly regional trains without any RES onward.
