Hi,

I am planning a trip to France and would like to see the contingent of free reservations without having a pass.

I made bad experiences last year that I booked a pass but then for many trains there where no reservations available.

There are no quota for passholders so as long as regular tickets are available, you can get a seat reservation. But to see whether the 10€ limited fare still exists or not, check : https://travel.b-europe.com/Eurail-GE/en/booking-tgv#TravelWish

4€ booking fee per order there, compared to 2€ per person per train on interrail.eu

Do not hesitate for questions. There are usually alternatives : Paris - Lyon TGVs always have seats and you can then continue by TER to Marseille for example.
