Hiya - a friend and I wanted to book a train from Seville to Barcelona in July but it seems that it’s only possible to book spanish trains in Spain itself? Is there a way around this? If we are travelling in July it is very unlikely that reservations will still be available for that train once we’re there and i’m anxious we won’t actually get a way out of Spain to continue our journey!

Any help would be amazing :)

Spanish reservations are available in Spain or from Deutsche Bahn.

They're not quota-controlled so booking a few days in advance in Spain is usually enough.

Please be aware that RENFE don't share all their timetables with the rest of the world, so they're only complete on the RENFE website and on www.raileurope.com (who managed to get).

You can call Spanish railways (RENFE) but then you can only make a prebooking and you'll need to pick it up in Spain within 72 hours. For details see this list (scroll down to Spain).

Deutsche Bahn can book them at the ticket office or via phone (+49 30 2970). In the latter case you can pick up the reservation at a DB ticket machine or have it sent via the post (for €5.90). You'll need to know the train number, which you can look up via Rail Europe (see above).
