Hi -

Kindly suggest Golden Pass route & timetable from Interlaken to Gstaad and Interlaken to Lucern with Interrail Global Pass to be travelled end of Sept 2022.

Can we take these trains multiple times with stops in between ?

Any seat reservation required on these trains?

What is difference between golden pass belle epoque vs panoramic?

Please check the timetables on www.sbb.ch. Panoramic expres trains will be marked “PE”. "Belle Époque” style coaches are also mentioned when they're on the train.

If you have a pass, you're free to make whichever journeys you want. You can board and alight from these trains at any scheduled stop, multiple times if you want. Just record all trains in the app (or on the pass cover for a paper pass).

Seat reservation is not necessary as far as I know; there should always be a few coaches that can be used without reservations.

"Belle Époque” means there are coaches in the Belle Époque style:

Panoramic means here will be coaches with panoramic windows:

@rvdborgt Thanks for the quick response. Very helpful information.

Interrail Planner is not showing the “PE” and also mentioning the Golden Pass indication. Looks like we need to search in Swiss Travel websites and get the train number and add that journey into Interrail Pass.

I also learnt that https://journey.mob.ch/en/routing is showing the connection with mention of Golden Pass & Belle Époque. I have to search here and then add in Interrail pass.

Basically, you should not use the rail planner app to plan because it is often out of date and not reliable. Local websites are always the best, or the DB or ÖBB planners for international travel.

IF you really want sit in these special coaches/cars (I think they do not run all year-not off-season) then there is a supplmt to pay-simply do that without all that hassle when there at a counter. The normal trains-ev hour to Luzern, nearly ev hour westward toward Montreux (but more changes are then needed)-change from normal to meter gauge) will give you the same sights-or not at all if its really cloudy and misty.
