Dear community,

I want to travel from Bruxelles to Valence with the TGV 9826. For the train I want to take there is only a reservation for 1st class possible. I, however, have a 2nd class Interrail pass. Can I book this 1st class reservation and use it with my 2nd class Global Pass in a second class seat?

Thank you for your support :)

No as your 1st Class reservation will give you a seat in 1st Class :/
Offical rule is that you then have to pay the price difference between 2nd Class and 1st Class ontop :/  (Some Interrailer managed to use the 1st Class with 2nd Class Passes but it depends from conductor to conductor how strict they see their rules)

Maybe the seats for Railpassholders in 2nd Class are already sold out. SNCF often give just limited seats for Railpassholders.

You may try to reserve the same train from Lille and travel from Brussels to Lille on a reservation free train. Another advantage the reservation is then just 10€ (limited) or 20€ until the train is sold out.
