I’m trying to reserve tgv seats for July 11, but seats are not available for a couple of weeks and I can’t find any available seat for early dates either. What’s problem with tgv lyria?
TGV Lyria from Paris to Basel has high reservation fees for passholder (27 € 2nd class or 57 € 1st class).
It's possible to just go to Mulhouse Ville and change for a 22 minute ride to Basel. That way the reservation cost goes down to 10 € even on the same train that runs to Basel.
If you are willing to do so, reservation can be already bought online here for your given date: https://travel.b-europe.com/Eurail-GE/en/booking-tgv#TravelWish (the TER train from Mulhouse to Basel doesn't require a reservation).
Otherwise, it's possible to book the more expensive reservation by calling SNCF on the phone: https://www.sncf.com/en/customer-service/contact-us/telephone

Greedy SNCF have raised it to €35 in 2nd and €68 in 1st class :(

And press #85 for English. When I called, they explained this in French which is very helpful of course.

Urgh. Ok, it's certainly been not expensive enough before.
But what is almost worse: Not to triplecheck prices and thinking they are still correct just because it's still written on the Interrail / Eurail webpage and in the app. Should have known better. Mea culpa! (*g*)
