Hello,

I wanted yo know if reservations are required to travel form Sofia to Bucarest, in the web site is confusing.

We are 4 friends that are planning to travel 26 august form Sofia to Bucarest, and we don’t know if we need reservations or if we can enter to the train with our pass.

Also, I’ve read some opinions that say the train station in Sofia is a mess an it is difficult to know where you have to go or what train you have to take.

If someone that has done this journey and can explain me how and answer me some questions I will be very grateful.

You DO need reservations for this train

You can only make them in Bulgaria. There’s no email or online facility

The first: less as in IT for similar-in BG they use BGL=leva, worth 50% of €

This is in fact not a train as such, but 1 or 2 cars, shunted from train 1 to 2 to 3 to finally reach Buc via big detour.

AND be prepared for more hassles; IN ROmania also all fast trains-and you can only use CFR with pass-not the many others-MUST RES and this is often reported to give problems recently in this forum.

Though it seems it goes more easy with the direct trains next stop in HUNgary
