Trieste to Zagreb via Ljubljana

Hi! I’m trying to check my route from Trieste to Zagreb in early September on the Interrail website to see if I need to make any reservations. At the moment the system is only showing one route (14h via Udine and Villach).

I checked on the Deutsche Bahn website for the same day (7th Sept) and they’re showing a much simpler route taking the train via Ljubljana.

Is this included in the Interrail pass, and if so, do you need a seat reservation?

(also any reason why this isn’t showing up on interrail itself?)

Thanks!

Rail Planner isn’t reliable : incomplete and rarely updated. It is better to use bahn.com or the companies websites yes. It’ll appear on Rail Planner at one point…

The journey is fully included. Even if it wasn’t, it’d still appear on the app (not in pass network).

  • Trieste - Ljubljana 3€ optional seat reservation + 2.60€ supplement on tickets.oebb.at for the Eurocity. Otherwise seat reservations not possible
  • Ljubljana - Zagreb 3€ optional seat reservation
