troubles Budapest seat reservations

Hi everyone!

We are having some problems booking seats from
Budapest. The eutrail site says that we can not book our
seats because it is a paper ticket and it must be
delivered, but it won't arrive on time. We need the ticket
for our journey back home (from Budapest to Milan) on
13rd August.
We tried to choose other trains from Budapest, but the
problem remains (apparently every train leaving from
Budapest needs a paper ticket); we also tried to write the
address of our hotel in Budapest (as the message
suggests), but again the problems remains (it says it
won't arrive on time, too).
Could you please suggest us a solution? We really need a
way to come back home that day.

could you post your planned route? from Budapest to Milano via which route and which trains?

these are the two possible routes from Budapest to Milan. As you can see, both of them need a paper ticket from Budapest

For the 6.40 (6.55) am train you don’t need a reservation, you can just hop on the train. Information on the rail planner app is wrong about this. Only for domestic trip inside Hungary a reservation would be needed.

So no need to waste money for this.
