Thank you for your kind response. We are not living in Europe.
Is there a way we can form two groups (we are two families) and do the bookings online without going to the office/?
First, most of them are actually doable online in 2 bookings but you won't necessarily seat together.
- TGV Paris - Zurich 12:20 - 16:26 doesn't run on 8th June, presumably due to engineering works. As the cross-border TGV has a 37€ fee, it is actually better to avoid it. Here is a good route :
- Paris-Est - Strasbourg 12:52 - 14:38 10€ per person
- Strasbourg - Basel SBB 14:51 - 16:08 reservation-free
- Basel SBB - Zürich HB 16:33 - 17:26 reservation-free
The TGV can be booked here (it works for 7 people) : https://travel.b-europe.com/Eurail-GE/en/booking-tgv#TravelWish
Use the pass cover number generator :

- Hamburg - Duisburg - Amsterdam as advised in 2 bookings on bahn.de and select seats next to each other with the map
For night trains, use either nightjet.com or tickets.oebb.at and make the reservations in 2 bookings
Venice - Vienna :
- 155.30€ 3-people sleeper
- 162.80€ 4-people couchette compartment
You won't be in the same carriage but you'll be sleeping anyway :)
Thanks. will try and get back
@thibcabe
Thanks for info.
For night trains, you mentioned the below charges
Venice - Vienna :
- 155.30€ 3-people sleeper
- 162.80€ 4-people couchette compartment
Are these additional charges (reservation fee) over and above the eurail pass that we already bought for 200 Euros?

Yes, those are additional fees for the night train.
Yes those are additional charges. Consider that it saves a night of accomodation in Venice or Vienna :)
If I wasn't clear the price is not per person.
So 155 + 162 = 317€ or about 45€ per person
Book night trains as soon as possible, they sell out a long time in advance.
You could also book a 6-couchette compartment and a single but not really worth it I'd say. It'll feel a bit cramped with 6 people while you could get the same space for 4 people only.
- 188€ 6-couchette
- 118€ single
Let me know for questions
For the Nightjet to Hamburg on 16th June
There is not a lot of accomodation left, mainly due to the fact that it is a Friday. You can book a 6-people couchette for 199.20€ but then the other person will surely need to share its cabin.
You could always book and cancel if needed. You'll get berth numbers as soon as you've paid. The Eurail reservations (for Nightjets) are 100% refundable until 15 days before travel.
Edit : or take the night train to Berlin and change to Hamburg (arrival at 11:55). But then it'll use another travel day unless you pay 25€ per adult for the Berlin - Hamburg train.
Or simply stay in Berlin if Hamburg is not a must. I really loved my trip to Berlin last year
Can you please help with the following itienary - we will have significant lugguage and coming for tourist purposes. So it will help if we can confirm our seats, preferably on direct trains.
