trying to book a seat reservation on 6th of july from zurich to frauenfeld that takes 36 minutes. On the interrail app, it doesn’t say seat reservation is needed but when I am on the website and also when I check sbb.ch, it says “ seat reservation not possible”. Does anyone know what it means?Does it mean I don’t have to reserve a seat for that train?

You don't need a seat reservation. And if it's not possible you can't even get one if you wanted to.

when I click on “show only trains that do not require reservations”, it still shows the same train so I am confused and I definitely do not want to get. a fine on the train

Reservations in Switzerland are not necessary (except for a few panoramic expresses) and are generally a waste of money.

so when it says buy a reservation on interrail’s site

i shouldn’t when it comes to swiss except the panoramic expresses?
