Is the first leg in my home country overnight allowed?

I want to leave my home country Germany from Hamburg to Basel overnight, departing in Hamburg at 20:01, arriving in Basel at 6:20 the next morning with an interruption in Frankfurt for two hours (0:20-2:45). Is this allowed? I‘m holding a Global Pass for 2 month.

 Thank you for any support.

It's allowed, but if you change after midnight, then you will use your second inbound/outbound journey and you'll have none left. If you don't want that, then get on a train to Basel before midnight. There's e.g. a direct night train 22:07-8:10. The seating coaches run as an IC.
