Ticket control at platform TGV (France)

Hello,

we would like to do an Interrail trip through France in summer. Do we need to plan extra time at the station in  Paris Est and Montpellier Saint Roch as tickets are checked at the platform before departure if we are traveling in a classic TGV? How extensive are the controls?

Best regards

Thorben

They just scan your ticket, nothing more. Can sometimes be a bit chaotic, if a large mass of people needs to squeeze through the checks.

Gates or/checking of tickets close 2 minutes before departure.

Platform number only shows 20 minutes before departure.

So just the normal 10-15 minutes time you need in bigger stations will suffice.
